I wish my interior is that clean! You should see my 2014 Caddy... no matter how clean I try to keep it but I would find something that needs my attention. Looking forward how the dashboard comes out next!

Looking forward how the dashboard comes out next! LOL! I'm a frickin' NEAT FREAK when it comes to my truck interior. I keep it pretty much "show ready" at all times. It drives my wife and son NUTS when they ride with me because I'm "that guy". "Take your trash with you" and "No drinks without lids". lol I should be able to make some decent progress on the dash this weekend.

Thanks Gary. I hope it comes out like I envision. You know how that goes sometimes. lol LOL...I hear you on that. I try to use the "BOB ROSS" approach...all mistakes are happy mistakes. Of course...I don't think he ever built a scale car. If a person drops a blob of glue (Red testors) in the middle of a dash...that's not a HAPPY MISTAKE! Ya got to look for a replacement. Oh well...so much for positive thinking BOB. LOL..

Brake handle looks good. Now you'll have to make the T-tops removable to show off that fancy interior. (Don't think I've seen that done before)
BTW, I picked up a few basic colours of the Prismacolor pencils from Michael's yesterday. :^)

Alright guys, Got the dash primed and then shot with a coat of semi gloss black. After that I painted, detailed and installed the CORVETTE emblem in the middle of the dash. Then I went to work on cutting the decals from the sheet and put those on some black Evergreen stock I cut out. The speedometer is installed and I've got the backing for the tachometer in the foreground. That'll be installed tomorrow. Progress so far. Frickin' "macro" mode makes the center gauge pack look like a hack job but it's not like this when looking at it in person.

That's looking good Joe. What semi-gloss paint did you use? Thank you all and sorry for the late reply on this one Gary. I use Stynlrez black primer followed up with MM Acrylic Semi Gloss Black applied in a super light coat to get the right vinyl sheen effects. Bench time has not been something that I've had much time for this past week. This frickin' HEAT around here just gets to me and it seems like I need a little bit more of a recharge than usual to recover from the day. Today I managed to muster up a little time at the bench though and it felt good. Here's the results of cutting each gauge out and adhering it to the backing. The backing was then adhered to the backside of the dash. Completed gauges.....now installed.

Man Joe...I hear you on the HEAT! It's probably killer down there. It's killer up here if it gets into the mid 90's. And it's been close to that for the last week or so. A/C is on at 10 in the morning. But...got to trudge on... Thanks for the info on the paint. That dash is really looking good. Are you going to put glass over the Gauges? Art Laski turned me on to this stuff called Tri-Art liquid glass. Man...it's the cats meow, when it comes to gauge glass. Mod-podge is good but, this stuff is way better. I bought the 8.45 oz bottle off of Amazon. That will last a life time for me. You can find it here if you like. www.amazon.com/s?k=tri-art+liquid+glass&crid=2TYL1354TMMHL&sprefix=%2Caps%2C149&ref=nb_sb_ss_recent_1_0_recent

Good call drilling out the gauge tunnel backs and mounting the printed gauges from behind. Takes a little more time than trying to cut nice round circles out of them, however the results speak for themselves.
Nice touch with the dash finish. Mr.Finishing Surfacer 1500 Black is also a nice primer. Might borrow your semi gloss technique on my next black interior. :^)

The lowest it gets at night is 81 degrees. Un.....believeable. Days are at 98-100 degrees with an index into the 120 range. I dunno if I'll be using that stuff on this build but I will on future builds Gary and thanks for the link bud. I'm gonna order some toDAY!!!

I did in fact have to cut each gauge into a small circle and adhere those onto the backing plate but the results were worth it IMO.

81 Deg at night! Man...I'd be naked as a "J" bird for sure, Annnnd...... barely having a sheet to cover my feet! It was that hot in Kansas at night when I was at Ft. Riley back in the mid 70's. Of course it was a dry heat as it's in the Great plains. But still....110 in the shade is still 110 in the shade. No matter which way ya cut it. Try to stay cool my friend.

I managed to get the radio/ CD player (anybody remember those?) installed this morning and put a CD left ready to fully insert into the player in there as well. I didn't like the usage of a 2D decal for an OEM radio so I went with a PE offering from my PE stash.

Looks fantastic Joe, I've stared at my dash many times and you nailed this. I am surprised the kit didn't put the passenger side air deflector / vent control knob next to the vent. My wife would kill someone on a hot day without that vent blasting air in

I'm pretty surprised at the vent control knob too. Weird how they are spot on with some details and not on others. It's almost like AMT getting the master window control switch correct on their 2017 Camaro kits but.....it's on the passengers side??
