Good to see you making progress Joe. The mufflers look sharp. Your use of the black BMF came out fantastic. Good show.

Thanks Jeremy. It is indeed tricky to work with. Doesn't seem to stick as good as the aluminum or chrome BMF but I was ready for that. Being thick was actually an attribute on these straps as it really brought 'em out. Cool. I’ve been curious about the stuff for a long time, but never heard anything positive. Glad it worked out for you. I think I’m gonna have to get some and give it a shot sometime.👍 You just have to be patient with it and know that it has a pretty low tack on the adhesive side of it. Having a brand new X-acto blade helps..... a lot.

Had some time today to get some major progress done in regard to the chassis. Managed to clean the exhaust pipes up of all mold lines and paint them up. Mufflers were treated to a Matte Aluminum BMFing. I mocked up a spare engine and set it in place with the chassis upside down to give me an idea of where to position the exhaust and once positioned, installed the crossmember and glued everything into place. I also received my Black BMF in the mail yesterday so I was able to put that down over the fuel tank retaining straps. Pretty much finished up here save for the exhaust tips installation which will happen once the body is installed permanently over the chassis/ interior module. This is coming along nicely Joe, I love your attention to detail. What is BMF?

Thanks fellas! I appreciate the "good word". Brian ( chromdome35 ) : BMF is bare metal foil.

The feature that looks like a fuel tank is actually the spare tire cover. The two supports under it act as a hinge that is held in place by a locking bolt next to the bumper. Not fun getting out on the side of a road on a busy interstate.
Having stared at this from the floor many times, it looks as you are nailing the chassis on this Joe!

I can't imagine what it would be like to drop the spare on this thing in any kind of a hurry. That.....is a job for the young. lol

The next phase of this build will be the installation of the left and right inner fenderwells and detailing them out. I'll be routing engine electrical and headlight vacuum line harnesses on these and then detailing out the engine firewall. Good ol Brent ( handiabled ) has supplied the necessary photos from his very own Corvette to help me out with this. 'Preciate that bud as it's gonna help out a lot!! You are very welcome my friend! I'm looking forward to seeing this come together

Alright folks, I've been working on the drivers side inner fenderwell on the engine side installing the headlight door vacuum lines and electrical harness. I ended up making a harness retaining strap out of a strip of PE formed and painted black. The real thing: The replication:

This thing is going to be a stunner front to back. You’re really packing the details in! Thanks Kyle, I'm going to start on the other fenderwell and then it's off to the firewall after that. Evidently folks have been having a tough time with these kits in regard to the hood closure. I'll be looking into that to forecast fit issues with it and the radiator.

Thank you guys for the great comments atomicholiday and sharp! Progress has been very slow on this one as of late but I'm taking my time with this stage of the build to make sure everything goes together smoothly. The firewall is almost complete with only the brake lines to fabricate & install on the master cylinder and then the vacuum line to the headlight actuator. I picked out the firewall wiring with a black lead pencil and then painted the standoff clamps a flat black and then picked out various other details.

Looks like its a nice kit because of its details on the back of the firewall such as wirings and bolts etc.

Excellent progress. This is going to look like the real deal when you’re all done. All the added details are really going to elevate it. That firewall is looking great.

Thanks fellas. I spent this morning fabricating the brake lines and retaining barrel nuts for the lines. Should have something in a few days as far as a completed engine compartment.
