Squeaky bum time, slap it there it's great stuff. I'll do a more controlled wash in the wheel wells as the Flory can be a bit hard to clean out of there

Got to make sure it's nice a dry before cleaning it up so the longer you leave it the better

Dang Ian...that bottom wing looks Great! That wash is called "Flory wash"? I use the TAMIYA washes on cars. Never heard of the Flory wash before. I guess because I'm basically a car guy. Interesting how you apply this wash ALL over the subject and then clean it off. Sure shows some great results.

Man...what a learning experience I just had. The Flory wash is incredible. I went to their website and learned a whole bunch of techniques. Here is a link to one of Mr.Flory's vidios. He is doing a Spitfire in one of the videos too. I thought it was a copy of Ians build...but it looks like a 1/48 scale. To small...lol I couldn't figure out how to post a youtube Video so, I can post a link to the page he has Videos on. www.florymodels.org/washes

If you've picked up something of use Gary then great Right wash all cleaned off then I went round pin washing where needed like the engine, wheel struts, wheel wells, inside the pilots door etc Dry overnight then a flat coat, no more shine

That sure looks GREAT Ian! That Flory wash is the bees knees for sure. I did order the 8 box set. Can't wait to work with this stuff. Painting it on is cool but...airbrushing it on looks way easier to me. Both techniques are good. I think I like the none bubbling with the airbrush. Thanks for posting this in your WIP Ian.

Weathering the model is my second favorite part of modeling because it always amaze me how washes can transform everything just like your Spitfire!

I've heard this is splendid kit. You whipped this out faster than I could read the thread. Incredible work. I have two of the "older" Airfix kits in this scale. The BF-109E and the P-51D, both need a great deal of attention.

These large kits intimidate me a bunch. You pulled this off and the level of detail is amazing. This is a work of art. Well done!!
