Very Nice!
That the old MPC from the '70s or the R2/MPC re release from a few years ago?
I've built a few of them over the years, they are not great kits but that was all we had!
Are you going to build one of the new tool MPC kits? they are much more accurate.
Thanks for posting!

At some point ,I have heard that the new kit has additional piping detail that the older MPC kit lacks!

Watching Space 1999 was forbidden as a child, don't know why, the episode I did see had me hooked on those gangly machines. Some day I will spring for one.
Verrry nice build.

At some point ,I have heard that the new kit has additional piping detail that the older MPC kit lacks! They have 2 new eagle kits. The 22 inch, 1/48 scale and the 14 inch, 1/72 scale. Both are VERY VERY accurate to the 44 inch filming model. They are close modeling perfection.

Outstanding build philo. This is one of my all time favorite sci fi spacecraft. You did a great job on it. I very well may have to look in to acquiring one of the newer molds.

This is a link to my build of the 22 inch eagle. It has photo's of the new kit with the old kit as a comparison. modelerssocialclub.proboards.com/thread/13854/22-inch-mpc-eagleI have the 14 inch eagle in my stash to build but have not started it. This is a comparison of the 14 inch kit with the old kit. It's much more accurate in every way.

Watching Space 1999 was forbidden as a child, don't know why, the episode I did see had me hooked on those gangly machines. Some day I will spring for one. Verrry nice build. There was this one episode where they encounter a "space graveyard" of ships. When they board one of the ships to investigate, a big, hairy, brown, one-eyed, tentacled monster appears out of nowhere and begins devouring the crew. That one episode scared the bejeezus outta me! I watched it again on Youtube recently, and thought it was kid stuff, but man it was SCARY watching that thing when it first aired! www.youtube.com/watch?v=mobxZFIg958

The new kit looks vastly superior to the older one! 😉 I know, a different space saga, but I love the line and scene.

I don’t know anything about Space 1999. I love sci fi but it was before my time. Having said that, the model looks great. And the new kit looks really nice!!

I bought the old repopped MPC Eagle and was underwhelmed. But the new tooled kits look great, and seeing all these really nice builds make me want to get one! The Eagle is such a classic sci-fi fi design.
I'm looking at the one with the lab pod(?), the one with the extended airlocks and dorsal booster pack.
