Camo is looking good Andrew! Thanks Leon! Hope all is well with you? That is looking especially good for the scale you're working with Andrew!! WOW!! Love the mottle pattern you pulled off. Thanks Joe. I used my best/most expensive/finest AB. Officially it's a Tamiya Superfine AB (0.2mm) needle but actually half of it, including needle and nozzle, are IWATA. I also proper play with one of those inline MAC valves....plus of course the paint consistency, as I was really worried about flooding the surface. It took a while to get everything balance right but I got there in the end. Hmmm... they look more like leopards than panthers to me... Now that made me laugh!! Coming to the finish line and looking good. Thanks Anthony. They are indeed. just got paint the tracks, tools and a few paint scratches. I'm going to keep the weathering fairly light, as they had not been with the unit for more than a few months and didn't see any action until the end of July. Very nicely done on rendering the scheme. Looks great to me Andrew. Thanks Joe Thanks again chaps, much appreciated.

Hi guys I just need to double check my facts and what I think I'm seeing. I believe on Panthers that they initially started with rubber wheels but went to all steel as they ran low on rubber. My homage is of the below vehicles and unless I am very much mistaken, it looks like rubber outer wheels and steel inners - certainly on the one that is side-on o the camera. That's certainly what the Tank Museum G2 has. Mine are meant to be earlier G2's Am I right or am I wrong? Thanks. Andrew

adt70hk I think wat your looking at is the rubber wheels in these pics , Leo (have i got that right?) Thank you so very much for that! So all had rubber but the inner ones had it in a different place and so the track teeth would have rubbed the paint off, which why the inner wheels look shiny and from the distance the photo was taken it can't be seen! As you will have seen I have simple one piece tracks so in most case you will only see the side of the inner wheels! Thank you again so very much. Andrew

Yes, the bright color you are seeing on the center row of road wheels is where the paint has worn off due to contact with the track link guide teeth. Due to the different configuration of the steel rimmed and rubber rimmed road wheels, flat vs. dished, I don't think that the two types can be mixed.

Sorry, wat I was Trying to say was that they would have used both all steel wheels and rubber wheels if that combo was possible ?

Even worse, with a bit of fiddling, the rubber tyre concave outer wheels can be fitted to a T-34 - and often were! Cheers, M

I had heard of their use on T-34's. As far as the Panther dished road wheels go, they are the same for the outer or inner usage, just mounted oriented differently on the road wheel arm axles to allow for the interleaving.

Good evening all So I have managed to finish the tracks using the following process: - Touch up the wheels in yellow or green to cover the worst of the overspray.
- Paint the the relevant parts of the road wheels steel where the paint is worn off. You can see this best on the front road wheels but you can just pick out where I did it in between the track teeth too.
- Paint the tracks. I experimented with a method someone on the other forum I am on uses. Basically mix black, dark grey, mid-dark brown and steel to your taste. This leaves you with a nice darkish grey that has a slight sheen, which is used a starting base. I started with roughly equal proportions but need to play around a bit with it and would like slightly more sheen than I have, but it shows promise
- Paint the rubber on the outer road wheels.
- Finally, touch up where I got careless or slipped!!!
They look ok from side on, if obviously very new but, at an angle, they clearly betray the limits of the one piece moulding technique used, as the outer wheels are far too thick...... BUT you have to remember that these are meant for wargaming....so I am not expecting these to be state of the art and perfect in every respect. Plus I got two in a box for less than £16 brand new from China - £8 each, so I can't complain. And they are clearly Jagdpanthers and no mistake! As I said to Dupes above, it wasn't that hard in the end and in an odd way strangely theraputic......no faffing with an AB, booth, masks and the all the associate faff....just a couple of brushes and some paint in my steel paint palette. ACW as usual. Andrew ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Silverado Joe, I do! I may not have commented much, but this has been a thrill to watch.
Andrew, brilliant work on the tracks and wheels. I do the same thing on mine. These are coming along exceptionally well!
