It is with heavy heart and shame to say that this kit kicked my butt...for now. I tried today to finish up interior, was going to go " naked" just to finish. Somewhere along the assembky line stuff started to warp, not fit as designed, and just became cluncky to work on. I really look forward to using this experience to improve a few other full interior kits I have. For now this one became un fun. My apologies Tojo, a kit of this magnatude in this scake requires more tume, patience, and effort than I can give right now. On a good side bar I have a BUNCH of really nice spare parts to convert or upgrade a future project. Still looking forward to my BSGB in January, hope others are too. Sorry to hear that Perry. That was looking forward to seeing this completed. Andrew

Thanks Andrew, yea I'm bummed that it put up more fight than I'm up for. It truly had a promising start. I enjoyed the kit, it was great to test my skills with micro detail clean up, and massive tiny subassemblies. It did give me a good picture of how to work such a complicated kit so when I tackle another full interior kit I'll have a plan....I hope....short memory syndrome LOL. Thanks to the many kind folks here who support all of us I know this kit isn't dead, just put up until I have an " Ah Ha" moment. Plus for now I have a TON of really cool spare parts that I can mix and match on orther furture projects....well in 35th scale anyway

But then I've never attempted anything anywhere this complicated!

The Takom Tiger II Porsche turret I did had parts interference so bad they should have a picture of it under the word in the dictionary. When I did the final assemblies I used 12" wood clamps to draw stuff together and had to reef on 'em pretty hard. I keep expecting it to explode one day.
This is why it took me over two years to finish that model, and such troubles seem endemic to Takom. In any event I think leaving it be for now is your best bet for what it's worth, it'll still be there when yer ready

Yeah, I feel for ya Perry. I was feeling the same about my RFM JP and it doesn't even have an interior! What you finished was looking pretty sweet. It's too bad it gets ruined by poor fit or lack of engineering to help us keep it all squared up. LOL, if you've read my thread, that's pretty much all I've been ranting and crying about. And then I wonder... is it just me?!? LOL

Not just you hass, I won't trash bin the kit as I may be able to salvage it at a later date, or use it as a destroyed hulk in a dio. No kit is ever really dead as there is always something creative that can be done. That said I have followed your thread and it would seem RFM and Takom used some of the same engineers to draw this one up. Abssolutely loved the detail provided an I've never seen a 35th scale kit with so much. If one can overcome the technical issues it would be a show stopper.
