Good progress so far Marc ( dupes ). Looks like you're doing a pretty dang good job on the camo/ ambush patterns on this tiny build. I like the way the Future works with the military and sci fi builds that you've got goin' on Tony ( tcoat ) as it looks like it added alot of depth to those builds.

I do apologize to Dupes for inadvertently hijacking his thread but just couldn't resist making the suggestion as it would rock that paintjob. I suppose I should just do up a thread on the subject some day (I have said this about 10 times now)

Shoot, no worries! I DO want to try this, but preferably on something I care less about (and can play around with). 😂
At this point, I just want to get this guy done and off my bench!

Eight months! I'm already up to five on this (because I started it in the beginning of June before summer work hit) and am tired of looking at it.
There's a guy on my local NE show circuit who finishes one model every 18-24 months. I have no idea how he can focus on one build for so long without losing motivation or subjectivity! Of course, they're all 1/32 jets, and he wins best of show almost every time, but still. Haha.

I'm going through that feeling right now myself. I've been on my Vette now for.... .8 months??!! AND that!!! Don’t worry. I’ll resume that build. I have it in line of sight on my bench. It’s gonna be like my Arado 234 was a few years ago

Great work on the assault pattern! This is the main reason why I have been avoiding my Panther project for a while. LOL

Hah! With diagrams and everything. Well Hasen is right though. It is indeed an "ambush" pattern. Ambush is the tactic but assault is the action. See Major Boudreax I didn't sleep through ALL of my basic officer training.

As ambush shown there, yes. But beyond these textbook examples, an ambush does not require an assault element to sweep thru the kill zone.

Just to prove I haven't bailed on this GB, here's a quick (low quality) pic of the Panther. Initial washes done, then flat coated. Need to do a bit of detail painting on the tools and hull accessories, then do some final weathering, then she's done!

That is all Tamiya Lacquer Painto, sir! Are you using the "new" Tamiya German colors: XF-89 Dark Green 2, XF-90 Red Brown 2, and XF-88 Dark Yellow?

You make this look all too easy and make it look like it much larger than what it is with all of the detail work. Definitely looking forward to seeing what else you do with this.

Thanks fellas! Looking forward to getting this one done and on the shelf. It's taken WAY too long. Haha.
I looked back - I used XF-88 as the base dunkelgelb (because I had more of that in stock than the LP equivalent). I've sprayed spoons of that and the corresponding LP color, and they are identical as far as I can tell. The green and brown are LP56 and 57.

Excellent result!! That really looks awesome. I love the camp and particularly the subtle weathering around the world seams and those areas.

Your Panther looks amazing Marc. Really sharp camo painting. I also appreciate the light weathering on it. Gives it just the right touch to me. It has been an absolute pleasure to watch you build this. You have given me great insight into the process I will be taking to finish mine. Especially your approach to painting and assembling the tracks. Congrats on making the finish line and being a part of the GB. It has been a pleasure.
