Got the Dark Ghost Grey painting in the top of the Super Hornets. I'll get the Light Ghost Grey painted in a couple of days.

Darn it Mike. I’ve missed these last couple of updates from you on this one buddy. I use marble patterns as well for groundwork on all my aircraft jobs now and your good outcome on the color coating illustrates how well this works with the color modulation. Excellent progress !!!

Thanks guys! I'm not entirely happy with the top. But I just got some of those Ammo of Mig Shaders that I'll use on the top camo. I need to work on the drop tanks, engines and then the black spine areas.

Starting to work on the little things. Bombs, missiles, drop tanks and landing gear.

You are getting there. I really don't like doing that small stuff...but,you have to. Or, build armor.

I test fitted the pylons to make sure they fit where they're supposed to. Both were unmasked and it seems I'll need to touch up the black areas.

I also stripped the drop tanks to repaint them. The exhaust nozzles also got painted and I like the way they came out.

Ok I have a question. I need to touch up some spots on the black but I don't want to have to respray all of the black. Any ideas to keep from having to do that?

Ok I have a question. I need to touch up some spots on the black but I don't want to have to respray all of the black. Any ideas to keep from having to do that? Depending on where the spots are. You could spray through a 3x5 note card. Cut a hole in card a little bigger then touch up area, then put card almost touching. Light touch with the spray, you don't want to build up a ridge

I'm going to go ahead and respray it all. One of them actually needs to be a lighter black.

Looks like re-spraying those tanks worked out rather well for ya Mike! I hear the blues with the fence. SUCKS!! Hopefully they’ll get you back up and running in short order. When our fences blew down a few years ago my brother in law stepped up for the task. It took him 3 weeks to get it all done and it’s what he does for a living!!

The black respray looks great from here! We have a big chuck of yard fenced with chain link. Biggest problem with it and wind is the debris that get hung up in it or next to it and mowing/trimming around it is a pain.

Thanks guys! Just a little painting left that I should get done tomorrow then gloss coating.
Oh and get this, the neighbor who offered to pay to have the fence done, told my landlords that he wasn't going to put a fence up. My landlords said "Oh hell no! We're putting up a fence!"

Painting is complete. I’ll let it dry overnight and gloss everything tomorrow.

I've done the same "cherry picking" of am to get correct details also. Looking forward to seeing the markings on both of these!
