I'm going to have to learn to weather before I post anything here! Impressive work all around! Oh come on John, you do some gorgeous builds! Not everything needs to be modeled like it just completed a tour of combat duty (barely).

Outstanding collection of builds. Some nice different subjects!! I have an eclectic taste in subjects, aka "SQUIRREL!!!" I would have a much more reasonable stash if I wasn't so all over the place.

Well I’m behind on this but will work to catch up. I spent a wonderful hour reading these 3 pages! Stupendous work all I’m most proud of the Tamiya 1/350 USS Enterprise as i learned all about lighting at a high level, including using fiber optics. i build just about anything! But overall there’s way more aircraft on display around my place than anything else. Let’s keep the lighting theme going and show a diorama - Lindberg’s Snark in 1/48. Horrible fit so i chose 9’ of 24v LEDs to blind people and keep them from seeing any of it 😂🤣 cars probably next on the list. I did these 2 for my son’s birthday over the last couple years as the 70 Camaro is his dream car a dragster, which I haven’t done since i was a kid…and i remember why now after this one lol Armor, not a lot to show here. I feel like i made the most out of this simple Panther Artillery - one of the guys in the Akron club does a “King of Battle” theme build every year. I did some figure practice for this one with Long Tom a few years ago Helo’s gotta be the AH-1Z Viper as I’ve done 3 so far. My favorite is the OSHP Zombie Apocalypse build as i made my own decals and paint scheme for this let’s see, that gets us on to Meca and my 1 Gundam, but i do have another in the stash as these are awesome quality kits!.
SciFi has to be my NCC1701E Enterprise in Aztek camo essentially On the fringe here but let’s include dinosaurs even tho with my nephew…i did build a lot of them as a kid so going to count it lol I do D&D characters for my youngest son’s table top gaming! And this really got me into the thread - man i loved everyone’s car! Surprising to see how many of us are also into cars. Here’s my current 1:1 project I’m working on with my middle boy, a 1959 El Camino. 1st year they made them…

I would like to say that all the models I have seen are absolutely some of the best that I have seen in my years of building. I am happy to be able to be in with such a great group of modelers. I was going to put 5 toasts up but I haven't been able to do it yet. First, this is not a model but the door to my last workroom. It might explain the "Builds you are most proud of and type of modeling I do". photos.app.goo.gl/RSvcwDdnJansPRhq6Cars/Street Rods---------"Flat Rod" '53 Chevy with scratch taillights, Chevy V-8, wired with brake lines and fuel line, scratch seats w/cloth apholstery and a few more extras. photos.app.goo.gl/VyPx67FdQZSBqjuJ9Armour----------Captured Russian IT-28 Bridge Layer and "Jeep" photos.app.goo.gl/Tw4XGmDxs7xCGu2ZAphotos.app.goo.gl/z4wqtfsX1wRe6WPb7Sailing Ships----------U.S.S. Kearsarge photos.app.goo.gl/NF6bmRsmTSpCruKeASci-Fi Humor----------Red Planet R/C Club photos.app.goo.gl/tKdPUQpA9thHFTpL9Planes----------Most Proud of this model. Made for a club member and fellow model builder Retired Lieutenant Joseph Potts USAF. Joe was a P-47 pilot in WWII. He flew bomber escort and ground strafing missions in the Islands during WWII. I made this model without Joe's knowledge. Gleaned info from him during club meetings with questions about his plane worked in with films we watched on U-tube (always P-47's in the films). He was 96 at the time but sharp as a tack. Showed him a tralnung film with instructor showing instruments and start-up procedures. He was one step ahead of the instructor all the time. At one point he corrected the instructor who one step later corrected himself. One of our club members is a major in the CAP teaching young guys to fly. He said "I think, if we put Joe in a P-47 right now he could start her up and fly her with no problems. I presented it to him at a club meeting at his house. He and His wife were suprised. Joe loved it and said where did you get all these details. I showed him the sheet with all the questions the guys asked him and his answers. His wife looked at him and said "Is that the plane you flew in?" He just said "Yup, that's it." When he came home from the war, he had a gold necklace with a little gold P-47 on it. He told her to always wear it and there would always be a P-47 watching her back. You can see it in the pic. Joe passed away at 98. The model and his photo are now on his son's desk with a model of the plane he flew, an EF-111 out of England, made by another member of our club. photos.app.goo.gl/fRMRdhLJvHAtEgW1AI know 1 question that will pop up in some minds. Why are there no ID numbers on the plane. Well, the answer straight from Joe was that his group were told by their commanding officer to remove them all. They were also told to remove any pin-ups. Joe was a great guy and a very good modeler too. He built cars and collected them from all over the world. He also built WWII planes. A spare bedroom in his house had all 4 walls covered with shelves with the cars and planes. RIP Joe and Thank You for your service. Stay safe. Jim

Well I guess I'll jump in , These are my completions that I am most satisfied with. As stated in my introductory post -- I like Monogram a/c kits and that is mostly what's here. 1) Monogram 1/48 P-51D. Scratch built new guns, Sealed up all the panels, rescribed 75% of kit. Windscreen superglued in, filled , flush sanded to blend into fuselage and polished back to clear. All markings masked and painted on except for nose art, kill markings and prop stencils. Now, if I just hadn't glued the gear doors on backawards ... Monogram/Aurora Fw-190. Replaced Guns and Main wheels. Monogram 1/48 P47D. Replaced kit guns. Monogram Skyraider 1/48, Replaced guns and added Quickboost antennas. Italeri 1/72 F-100D 'Thors Hammer'. OOB. Sanded out 'extra' canopy frame and polished canopy. My First Car Kit. AMT 67 Impala SS -- Model Master Pearl Grape Metallic.

As the title states I would like to get a better handle on some of you and your work. I thought some of you know what I do and others do not. SO, why not post up one of each of the kits I am most proud of and that also represents each subject I like work on. ie, cars, armor, etc. The pics should only be your favorite kit from each area you dabble in. I'll go first. I enjoy cars and have built more of them than anything else, mostly in my youth. This is a 70 Boss 429 I rebuilt a about a year and a half ago. Very happy with the result. 1/25
All great builds Brandon. The Hawkeye is magnificent!

I’m proud of majority of my builds, but I’d say this is a pretty accurate summary of my most prized builds. A6M2 Zero, B5N2 Kate, and D3A1 Val all on replica IJN carrier I made. The hardest part of this build was finding time to build. Between a job change and my son teething; I had long spurts where I was simply too tired to sit down at the bench. Completing this build had really reignited my fire, and majority of my alone free time is dedicated to the hobby now. i My A6M2 Zero from this build was recently featured in an advertisement for Coast Kits Display Bases, which also makes me quite proud. YF-23 BlackWidow. I have seen this exact jet in person maybe half a dozen times and think it’s one of the best looking jets out there. I was excited to receive the model as a Christmas present a few years back. After seeing the jet in person again, I feel like my build does it justice. This is the first diorama I made. I obviously watched quite a few YouTube and didn’t go into without knowledge. I did this build as if it was Star Wars meets Fallout. I decided to do this build after watching some YouTube documentaries about the Nazi V weapons. I found a few pictures online of how the Buzzbombs were launched, and attempted to replicate it. The launching sled is completely scratch built.

This one took over a year to finish, but it was worth the time. Tamiya's 1/48 F-4B that I converted to an early (1965) Marine Corps Phantom with an air-to-mud loadout and no ECM gear. Beautiful phantom eaglecash! I love those Marine mud mover phantoms.
