As the title states I would like to get a better handle on some of you and your work. I thought some of you know what I do and others do not. SO, why not post up one of each of the kits I am most proud of and that also represents each subject I like work on. ie, cars, armor, etc. The pics should only be your favorite kit from each area you dabble in. I'll go first.
I enjoy cars and have built more of them than anything else, mostly in my youth. This is a 70 Boss 429 I rebuilt a about a year and a half ago. Very happy with the result. 1/25
This is my Dickermax. I think it was my 3rd or 4th armor build. Very happy with how it turned out. I was trying some new techniques. 1/35
E2-C Hawkeye. I love this kit and how it finished up. Took awhile to build and had a tough fuselage issue, but I overcame it and love this kit. 1/48
USS Peleliu. This is the only ship I've built, but I have several in the que. Built it in honor of my late father-in-law. Chief Master at Arms USS Peleliu and USS New Jersey. 1/700
Mandolorian with Bescar armor. 1/12
My only helo to date, but I have a few more to build. AH-1Z Viper. 1/48
And finally, this is my 1:1 kit. I have had it for nearly 30 years and spent over 20 building this kit from a glue bomb if you will. Can't believe what these go for anymore.
As you can see, I have a full range of tastes and if I don't build it in plastic it only means I am avoiding it so I don't blow the stash up any worse. Looking forward to see all your interests.

Brandon this is a brilliant idea for a thread. I think I'll kick off with a few of mine.
Some of the builds I am most proud of are these, which also help represent some of the interests I have...
In Armor, my Magnum Opus: 1/72 scale Hobby Boss Dora Railgun:
In Real Space, my 1/72 scale Apollo 11 Saturn V rocket:
I have done some cars, the best of which is this Monkeemobile:
In Sci-Fi , the best so far is this Y-wing fighter:
In aircraft, I'm rather proud of this little 1/72 scale guy. He isn't my best but when you consider the whole thing is only about three and a half inches long, I am thrilled to have finished all that rigging:
I did do one figure, a 1/8 scale Legend of Sleepy Hollow:
I guess I can call that my best figure. LOL!
And finally, here's a poor picture showing that yes; I do build ships!
Although not my best ships, some of my better ships are these:
Italian Battleship Vittorio Veneto:
And my Russian carrier Baku:
I guess I could say these are some of the best in my different categorical interests. My main focuses are Armor (876), Aircraft (469) and ships (289), but as shown above I'll model anything that truly snags my interest.
Brilliant idea again Brandon, I look forward to seeing everyone else's responses!

Some very good builds and definitely ones that you guys should be proud of. For me....my Tamiya D-9 is my favorite aircraft to date and ironically, it only took me four months to build. It just seemed like everything went perfect with this one. In autos, my Revell F-100 "Demon II" build holds a special place in my heart. Again.....a build that went together without a hitch and she's been featured in FSM. brandonk Like you and your beautiful 1:1 scale ride. I've got an affinity for the same scale and you're right.....these things get more and more expensive every day. These square body Chevy's and the late 80's through 98 rides are creeping up in price as well. As many here have seen already, my 1994 Silverado with a 406 small block. I've had her now for 13 years and she's got 450,000 miles on her.

Wings
This is 1/48 Harward I built a while ago. I love it because of its simplicity. It is just an airplane, no loads of bombs, missiles, microscopic parts etc And it turned out reasonably well.
Wheels with tires Just the legendary Jeep. Again, simple and humble.
Wheels with tracks Pancer 38(t) in 1/35. Tons of parts, my first encounter with magic tracks, detailed interior of engine, driving compartment, interior of the turret...Oh, and I like how it turned out
As for what I like to build, well, kind of whatever catches my interest at the moment, subject to price...sort of. Flying in 1/48, rolling in 1/35, any era.

How those words warm my heart. There's something special about building a model which comes from one's own imagination and is uniquely yours. When it is allied with the skills in construction and finishing so evident in your photograph it has to command the respect of any true modeller regardless of their own preferred genre. I would also like to commend your solution to the problem of the MasterBox beastie ridden by the armoured lady, it always looked to me as if they had used the form of a big cat in designing the scaly critter, but I never thought of giving it a fur coat. May I ask if you did this by coating it with putty and working that, or if you used a pyrogravure to roughen the plastic of the kit?
Best Regards,
M

When I was younger I built quite a few cars. My first kit as a 7 year old was an AMC Pacer. 40+ years later I dud the same kit again. I'm a plane builder and I'm proud of all of them. Some more then others. Here is the 1:1 toys. The Trans Am has been in my wife's family for 23 years. The MX-5 is my daily driver. Hey...its Florida

Holy cow! The level of skill here is simply on another level. I found it quite hard to just pick only one kit from each field as I am proud of all my kits, "some more than others." We clearly all share the passion for building, creating things and many of our personal areas we dabble in often overlap. That is what makes this so great. We all have a common thread that gives us a unique brotherhood not found in too many other hobbies. Keep them coming boys, I'm really enjoying this.

Thank you kindly! I used 2 part epoxy putty and sculpted the fur. I agree, it looked like a big starving cat!

Wow this topic really made me think! I was sort of surprised at what I picked in a couple of cases. Modded vehicle (my only one) This was to be a throw away test bed for my first try with rattle can lacquer. Bought kit for the stock engine and seat for other project so filled in the missing parts with leftovers from other scrap kits. Came out far better than I would have ever thought. Of course it did not end up thrown away! Ships. I have several but... 1/350 I-400 Aircraft carrier sub. Even OOB with no rails or other etch came out very well considering I am not used to that small scale. Beat up vehicle. 1976 Datsun Pickup. Most of my car builds are/will be cars I used to own done in the condition they were in when I had them. The wear and rust on this one is almost exactly like the real thing was. Aircraft Broken Mustang. I have a pile of aircraft but this is my best work. Armour Many many and hard to choose but think it is my M-113 SciFi Was hard to pick again but the Snowspeeder took it

Superb builds gentlemen! Here are a couple of mine. Lippisch P.13a (left), converted from Huma Model's 1/72 DM-1 glider(right), my first major aircraft conversion: Ehmar's junky 1/35 Mark V, with some equally junky resin tracks and a lot of mud: Tamiya's 1/20 Tyrrell P34 (more relieved it got done versus proud actually): Model Cellar 90mm Manfred von Richthofen (not really something great, it was just my first large scale figure): Pit Road 1/20 Ocean Engineering Jim diving suit: Halcyon 1/35 Aliens APC, with added lighting. Because as you know, they come mostly at night. Mostly: Ramba Ral's 1/100 Bandai Zaku I: Maio Platt's Bandai 1/144 Falguen w/ scratchbuilt lifter unit: Nitto 1/20 HAFS Jerry, a nice armored walking shoe from Maschinen Krieger: And finally, Gansou Sample's 1:1 Spaghetti Napolitan dinner:

I enjoy building sci fi , military and painting figures. The first pic I'm most proud of... Its a scratch built starship that I won 1st place in the sci fi category at the 2007 IPMS Nationals in VA Beach: Absolutely stunning.

My preference is military modeling subjects... mostly 1/35 armor and 1/48 aircraft... plus a few ships, primarily in 1/350. For aircraft, this has to be my most intense project completion so far, Monogram's 1/48 B-26B, where I went way overboard on creating and nearly complete fuselage interior, as well as some other areas... I modeled her to look as she would have on the morning of June 6, 1944. In armor, this is probably my favorite build so far, Dragon's M46 Patton, that I backdated to an early production type. I really had fun doing the paint scheme... And for ships, the Academy 1/350 Graf Speech. I built it OOB, although I did cut off some of the 20mm gun mounts based off photos of her in Montevideo harbor after the Battle of the River Plate

Wow... theres certainly some talented builders on here ! ! Heres some of mine, Ive built cars on and off all my life, just recently tried a plane, and a tank.. This is the usual build style, show car Lowriders ! The orange flake Monte Carlo was over 2 years to build, it has so many alterations , I need to show you this another day !
My son has a Mazda MX5 addiction, so i took him for drifting lessons in one !
Wanted to recreate the experience in plastic so i built this for his Birthday ! Scalextric figure and a simple diorama...
Then an attempt at aircraft building, my favourite Mitsubishi Zero !
And finally the 1;1 project, this is why Ive been busy lately but Ill be back to the bench soon ! Originally a barn find, this is my 1957 Austin A55 ! My son and I have been working on the motor getting it running nice, and Ive recently added new wheels !

Damn I gotta follow all that? Pfft! Ok fine. My first build back into the hobby was the Italeri MV-22 Osprey. First time I used an airbrush and I scratchbuilt the flaps down. My first award winner and first armor build. Trumpeter 1/35 M1133 Stryker MEV Another award winner and I went to town on the weathering. Bandi Y-wing. And my last finished build. So close to being perfect (for me anyways) Tamiya F-16C 149th FW Heritage Jet Last but not least, my 2015 Nissan Xterra "Ghost"

I thought this was a great idea for a thread so I thought I'd jump in with my various and sundry interests. Automotive: This is what I build most of and choosing one was certainly very difficult. I decided to go with a Christmas build I did for my father-in-law of his 69 RS/SS. I spent a lot of time trying to replicate his car as closely as I could and his happiness with the gift makes this one of my most favorite builds ever. A photo of the model and the car it's based on. Subcategory-race car: I had to post at least one...This Sauber C9 from Tamiya was a pleasure from start to finish and I'd build another one tomorrow. Big rig: While not exactly a big rig, but more of a straight truck, this build of the ancient Monogram lumber truck is one of my all time favorites as well. It is the recent Atlantis rebox. Just had a blast with it. Real sticks cut up on the back for the load and weathered as a newer truck but one that had done at least a days work. Painted like a restored version I found photos of online Motorcycle: I've only ever built one...The Tamiya Monkey. And it was a joy. Definitely have designs on building more of them. Aircraft: Every now and then I want to build something that flies. Preferably something with pistons. I do have one jet in my stash that I'll get around to sometime. This is the Revell-Germany newish tool 1/72 Avro Shackleton. I believe this was my 3rd aircraft? And the first one I ever built seriously and tried to make look really right. Learned a ton on this build and it remains one of my favorites, although it is huge and I still don't know what to do with it. 😂 Sci Fi: I believe this is the last of the different categories I have built so far. Although eventually I'll try my hand at armor and ships. Eventually. Only sci fi build so far was the excellent Bandai X-wing. A beautiful kit that I just weathered and built as a generic red squadron X-wing. great fun. And for my 1:1 toys...another Silverado. Bone stock '87 we've had for about 12 years now. Nothing special and soon will be in need of some body work but still a good old truck. And this 95 Impala SS I have owned since high school. Currently out of commission with a dead LT1 distributor. The bane of their existence. But I plan on having it back on the road soon.
