Cobra Daytona Coupe

I started on this kit about a month and a half ago and thought I'd bring the WIP over here.  So if it seems as if I'm going at warp speed on this build, it's because I'm going catch you up to where I'm at.  Then I'll slow down to my normal glacial pace.

This is a 1/12th MFH kit of the Shelby Daytona Cobra.  Kit contents.......

I spent some time getting the resin pieces lined up and the holes drilled for them.








Basic engine and chassis pieces painted and assembled.

I don't build cars but I enjoy following the builds. It is the firs time I have learned about MFH kit and it really looks nice so you definitely have my attention!

From the shift linkage to the bellhousing studs and nuts this looks incredible!

Still catching up.   The antiquated leaf spring suspension was done with stacked p/e.    Once the suspension was on, I installed the motor, then the framework around it.

You should realize that 90% of the "looks dang good" is the kit.  I'm only suppling 10% of that.

For some reason they designed the car with the window on top of the frame







Once I got the frame painted semi-black, I glued the window to it.  Once dry, I did the fine trimming and added the rivets.  I'm kinda proud of the fact that I was able to put in 40 rivets and only lost two.

I'll tell ya Paul...that is waaay more than 10% building skill! Awesome job on those rivets too! Shoot...I'd be ecstatic if I only lost two... This is really looking good.

Decaling the switch labels and the gauges.  I didn't like the appearance of gauges I did on an earlier build when I used the provided lenses.  So I used the craft glue a friend had found.  It dries clear and is very strong.  It's also what I used on the rear window.

I paid $680 for this kit with the shipping.  I know it sounds like a lot, but I've seen people spend more than that on a 1/12th Tamiya kit with all of the upgrades and extras that are available.

Those gauges turned out fantastic. You're letting it rip with that "10%" buddy. I may have to look into some that Liquid Glass your using there.
