You're doing a wonderful job on this Paddy. The engine looks great. And I agree that the kit chrome didn't look right.

That engine looks real paddy, had to do a doubletake. You sir are not helping the no new kits in my stash resolution LOL. Luckily for me I made no such resolution. 🤣😂. Agreed paddy, wonderful work. The engine looks lovely in the chassis and as Paul’s photo attests, you’ve nailed the look of that radiator.

The detail that you put into your work is just over the top Paddy. How did you achieve the look on the exhaust manifold/ header?
Fabulous stuff.

Plug leads on today, you cant fit these till the bulkhead is in place so its a bit of a fiddle this late in the build.

Something to ponder while i deal with the insides The outside panels are made up of several parts. the problem is they are lock wired like this ( along the join from side to under tray) you cant assemble these parts till they are fitted to the model ie: the body parts are assembled to the Chassis, you cant assemble then as a complete body to the chassis one possibility is to wire them as individual parts which i think is what is going on here IE: the panels are not laced together.

Big mistakes are rare but they happen. I drilled out the kit moulded rivets , planning to fit screws to act as lock wire points however even my smallest screws don't look right. I have got away with these before but these on the Bugatti are very close together and are just too big. I will have to re install the kit rivets somehow. Way to big but they worked here on my alfa 8C as they were further apart

Very interesting. I hadn’t realized the panels were that way on the real car. I like your idea and they sure looked great on the Alfa. Sorry they aren’t working out to your liking.

If they cant help i will heat it back up, get it as close as i can and call it accident damage I mean its a racing car, they crash, they get dented.

Well, these things happen to us all. And, Indeed. Racing Accidents are always just around the corner. I hope you don’t have to revert to using this piece and Italeri takes care of it.
