Over in Kitmaker,they have a Teen Spirit Fighter Group Build,like F-14 to F-18,I thought that was cool,but I would love to expand it any modern F fighter,that would include from F-4 to F-35 also 102,104,105,106 any country,even foreign F aircraft.
I would love to host that later in the year if there's interest.
Any thoughts

I’d be interested… Under the current US system that started in 1962, there was F-1, F-2, and F-3 before the F-4 Phantom.
RAF types might be interesting as the F would be in an alphanumeric suffix to the name such as Hunter F.6 or Tornado F.3

If this were to start in the 2nd half of the year, Id be interested at least. I do not have great knowledge on aircraft other than liking them so I would have to research on what I could even build. I've also never built any aircraft besides a rocket.

You have a choice of many different kit manufactures and markings for several different countries or paint schemes from bare metal to full camo.

Or it could be a bit more restrictive and stick to the Century Series aircraft of F-100 to F-106. So, so many variations and markings available in that group. We'll see,I definitly want to get the teens in,along with the Phantoms,Raptors,and F-35

But it sounds like there is plenty of interest in such a GB for later in the year. I've got a couple of phantoms in my stash I need an excuse to build one the the Acadamy F-4C the other is an old Monogram( ) F-4J. Should be flowing smooth enough in my GB by then to branch out. Color me in Tony.

I have always wanted to do a CF-104 and this may be a good opportunity but already committed to 3 tis year and once spring hits that will be the end of my building until fall. Now if I manage to get everything already panned done then...

As far as the F4U,I was thinking modern,no props,but I didn't want to go all the way back to the F-84/86 series US centric, but aircraft in service as fighters in 1962 would be a practical cut off. That is when the current tri-services designation system went into effect, so there is something there, not just a date picked at random. The USAF had been using F since 1947 but eliminating aircraft not being used as primary fighters (not older fighters still in service in other roles) when the new system went live, eliminates most to all of the early jets and leaves you with a large selection of pretty modern aircraft. This leaves you with just a handful late early types like the F9 Cougar (update from the Korean war era Panther), F-84F Thunderstreak (update from the Korean war era F-84 Thunderjet) or the F-86D Sabre (the all weather interceptor version, not the Korean war hero), all of which remained with reserve and Air National Guard units into the 1960s. There are also a couple of very advanced but short lived older types types like the F3H / F-3 Demon and the F4D / F-6 Skyray. These were out of service by the mid 1960s, but as they were very cutting edge at the time and contemporaries of the older Century series fighters they still look very modern. This leaves one major outlier the very advanced, but highly anachronistic looking (straight wing) F-89 Scorpion which continued to soldier on as an all weather interceptor with Air National Guard units until the late 1960s. Beyond that the F4 Phantom and Century series fighters are the old timers, and you seem to be ok with these. Just a thought, it is your GB idea.

Carlos, Vought couldn't be V because Vultee already had that, so the Navy gave them U. Later, when Vultee disappeared into Consolidated Vultee they gave the V to Lockheed, probably because everyone was confusing Lockheed's previous O with a 0 (zero). North American got J because they absorbed the previous owner, Berliner Joyce.
Many letter suffixes were used several times for different companies, mostly without overlapping the same years, but sometimes they even overlapped, as in Fairchild and Grumman, both F. No apologies to McNamara but the Navy system did have its faults.
My preference would be to start after the F-107, anything first flown after 1956. There was a real break in aircraft design at that point, it seems to me.
