looking awesome! yes, heat staining on the exhaust portions. Don't forget this is the side that's faces the dirt/pavement when its grounded. Soo weather accordingly.

Getting more done on this albeit slowly. Had a crack at heat staining the exhaust for want of a better term. Did some detail painting of the cockpit area. The flight deck/consol can be put in in 2 directions depending on the orientation of the ship. Still undecided which way I'll put it in, but the kit doesn't come with a display stand so I'm thinking it will have to be in the landed position. I haven't done any weathering to the underside yet but have most of the painting done. I have started to apply the main colour to the hull. Just used the hairspray method. It'll be interesting to see how masking over this section effects it, if the tape will pull the paint or not??

Looks really good!!! I fear you may lose the paint to tape if its over hairspray...Perhaps use a really weak adhesive tape over the hair sprayed stuff. Or a piece of tin foil to mask the area. A dot of white glue in the corners to hold it in place. Blow your paint on gently in those masked areas...Looking forward to more of this...Stellar...build!

My apologies for the lack of updates recently, things haven't gone to plan lately but that seems to be the new norm now days! Anyway, I've just about finished this one. Do I post the pictures of the finished build here or is there a finished thread?

Do I post the pictures of the finished build here or is there a finished thread? Why not both? Go ahead and drop them in here. And I think there is a completed thread in the gallery section you could go drop a couple too.

Do I post the pictures of the finished build here or is there a finished thread? Tim I'll usually post one picture of the finished build here and then make reference to the completed thread in the completed section. This has indeed been a fun build to follow along on and I'm looking forward to seeing the finished pictures when you get them up brother.

Ok, so here i am at the end of this one. My apologies for missing photos pf the last few steps but I got the chance to finish it so I just kept going. I wasn't sure how to weather the canopy so I left it for the time being. Suggestions would be appreciated. I don't have a lot of experience with washes, so correctly or otherwise, here's what I did. Once the main colours were on, I went over all the panel lines with Tamiya panel line paint/wash. When I asked about the panel lines for the Butcher bird build, I was told that the aircraft were often wiped down with an oily rag, so that's what I did. I used burnt umber, burnt sienna and black washes, either on their own or mixed. On the upper surfaces, I brushed it on heavily then wiped the excess off with a cloth. I then added the leak stain using a fuel effects paint. On the underside, I applied soot coloured weathering powder mixed with black wash on the structures surrounding the exhaust vents. I then applied the wash, wiping the excess off with a dry brush and lightly dabbed cloth. Many thanks to everyone who followed along and offered advice and support, much appreciated! I have posted these pictures and afew more in the completed thread. P.S. ADMIN, if I have it in the wrong place, please shift it
