That's a great weathered finish!  When I built the MPC kit back in the 1980s, I spray painted it silver, airbrushed the body colors on, then used masking tape to create the chipping and peeling effect. I used the "Art Of The Empire Strikes Back" for reference, and it actually turned out okay. |

Might have mentioned this before, but This turned out so cool!! Definitely gave me some ideas for whenever I get around to building mine. I just love it.
