Hello from the Cold Wet Side of the Pond

Hi All,

Glad to be here on this great looking forum - someone from management decided that the standard work was getting far too high and needed an injection of mediocrity, so they called me 

I'm Stuart and although English I currently live on the North Coast of Wales, that's the even colder bit covered in sheep sandwiched between England and the Irish Sea. Some of you might know me from SPAM, but I guess most of you won't, so I'm glad to meet you and look forward to chatting to you! 

I've been modelling properly since 2010, and I mainly build 1/72 aircraft and some small scale armour (with a U), I also like to paint 28mm Sci-fi miniatures sometimes. I mainly use water based acrylics and am the pround owner of several decent hairy sticks which, although I own a nice Iwata airbrush and a decent compressor, is still my preferred method of painting. My favourite subjects are WWII (you can never have too many Spitfires - I've build 25) and late Cold War USAF and RAF aircraft.

Great builds you have there. My primary builds are also WWI & WWII planes but as I've been building for 77 of my 83 years I have built almost all other groups of models also. Look forward to seeing more of your work and maybe learning a thing or two.

LOL!!!! Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I can't comment on the sheep as I'm not actually Welsh and wool makes my skin itch, you could be right about some of the locals around here though, I'm sure I've seen velcro gloves for sale in some of the little village shops up in the hills. In my naivety I'd wondered what they were for.

  With that being said, I'm careful to go out invite too large a crowd all at once fellas. It's usually one or two max from the different communities abroad at a time. Too many and it gives the appearance of stealing folks from forums and that aint cool. I was actually going to invite Stuart early last month before some of the problems popped up with SPAM and not being able to get on and then other life stuff got in the way. There'll be others to follow from other communities and folks that I meet in person.
