I built the "Heavy Hog" version of this kit several years ago. It is a great kit with some wonderful figures and you will enjoy the build.

This looks to be a good kit Lyle. I’m definitely down for a good Huey build.

One of these days, I’ll try painting those things. This is the third 1/35 helo I’ve gotten lately. I did a “meh” 1/32 Revell Huey a few years ago, back when SPAM was getting samples from Hobbyzone. look closely at the screen. Good. Relax. Good. now go buy some helicopters!

Getting a bit done on the flight deck.... This is looking good so far Lyle. As far as the fire extinguisher next to the center console goes, if you're going for any accuracy, it should be located on the outside of the pilots seat here... I'm not "the" Huey guy but I spent over 8 years working on them as a crewchief. Couldn't grab the pic but you can see it here. UH-1H Huey Pic

Won't get everything else in there with it against the console.

Thanks, guys. Accuracy, schmaccuary. We don’t need no stinking’ accuracy! I see that now. I honestly looked at that page for a while, and did wonder how it would fit. I even moved it up on the side of the console. My brain does this to me a lot. We will have a talk later.

Over the last two-three days, I seriously questioned whether or not I wish to continue with this hobby/ Seriously. Two seats, four parts (seat, back. left and right sides). Four stinkin' parts for each seat. Literally, three days, 15 or so attempts. Finally, they stayed together. And, this damn thing. According to the destructions, the back of the bench is supposed to attach to the bulkhead and the front frame to the front of the locker. Nope. one or the other had to be made to fit. Don't know if it was me, poor directions, and, I don't care at this point. I made a piece that sort of looks okay.

Well heck Lyle......you made it look so good that I don't see what the problem was. I do here what you're saying as far as questioning whether to remain in the hobby at times though. I went through the same mindset when I assembled the 27-piece floor shifter from Futureattractions for my Ford Maverick that took 7 hours to build. I literally stopped building for 3 months.

Joe, I rember this from SPAM. I was astounded that any human could assemble this! Still am. This is exhibit A for why I don’t do much PE at all. If you look at rhe bench, there is a dark gray “stripe” that is about 1/4” wide and attaches to the rear bulkhead. I cleverly added the mounting pins to the top to match the mounting holes. The canvas bench was covered with a piece of paper towel and painted OD.
