Those aren't bad lookin' engines and it's a real shame that they'll be covered up Quinn. Any chance you could open up an access panel for one of em'? Not trying to make things difficult for you ......just curious is all.

Joe - give me a sec & I'll respond to that shortly ...
So - I'll just post up some photos of work this afternoon. (King's Birthday public holiday here in QLD)
It's starting to look like a proper model aircraft !
I'm keen just to get through this build now - taking well too long., not that I want to compromise quality in the build, right ?
So back to you Joe - That last photo there - I didn't install any of the avionics or radar in the forward section of the aircraft...
I did buy a bunch of after-market reskit bits of the above - but I think it's just a bit above my skill level at the moment. I'll get there eventually
Sooo ... I am considering buying ANOTHER F-111C kit & doing a maintenance strip-down sort of build - Have one engine sitting on a work trolley, avionics bay open, radome open etc, etc ...
I'd consider doing the grey paint scheme of the later versions of the Aussie F-111 pigs ...
Thanks for stopping by ... tacos for dinner tonight

One word ... DISASTER ...
I was prepping for primer, getting everything ready & the time had come to fit the Reskit canopy ... didn't fit - not even close to fitting.
Now I will say - no fault of Reskit. Had I read the instructions a little more carefully and modified one of the Hobby Boss parts, I may have had a chance . I can't even bring myself to post a picture of the disaster ...
Anyhoos - I've decided to go back and do the original HB kit cockpit and cop the walk of shame ...

World's longest model build Dude I'm sorry to hear about that Quinn. I think we've all pulled that number a time or two in our modeling endeavors so you're not alone in that bud. Will be looking forward to seeing the cockpit build up and have no doubt that you will do it more than the justice this bird deserves. BTW.....I think I'm currently one of the front runners in the longest model build. I've been on my Ta-152 here for the past 10 months and counting. Just hoping to finish it up by the end of the year at this point.

Do the Reskit canopy parts try to correct the shape of the Hobbyboss canopy?

Sorry to here about the dramas mate, but as the others said, we've all been there and probably will be again.
