WOW! Look at all those metal parts. Another great kit, Paul. Cant wait to see it. Thanks James. And that's just the first page of w/m parts....there's two more. I got the engine pieces out and drilled holes and test fit it together. I also started on the rear chassis. 66

Do you use regular CA glue for the metal pieces, same as the plastic? Any special prep for those pieces?

Do you use regular CA glue for the metal pieces, same as the plastic? Any special prep for those pieces? James, I use either J-B weld or thick CA for the chassis. The first set of pictures I posted of the basic engine framework was done a piece at a time with J-B Weld. The triangular pieces on the second set of pictures was done with thick CA. The w/m frame tubes get the mold lines sanded off, then maybe a pass with a brass brush. Then I use the adhesive. I try to have bare metal when I glue the pieces.

For someone who has never built a kit like this, does MFH provide these types of tips or help in their kit instructions? Or do you just find out on your own through research? I would have never thought of JB Weld. And would have most likely went to google or forums for tutorials haha.

Most of my knowledge has been trial and error with ideas from others thrown in. I did run across a very good article about building MFH kits on Facebook. Let me know if you want it and I can send it to you.

Absolutely stunning!! The engine of any MFH kit is almost always a work of art. No exception here! Thank you very much guys. I've said it before and I'll say it again, almost all of that beauty is due to MFH. That's why I'm so addicted to their kits. Got more on the engine. 478

I've seen Suber's work before. He's a student of the Verlinden technique of weathering. He does very nice work. I've got a bunch of reference photos.... link

More brilliant work on the engine there Paul. I'm loving this. Thanks Kyle. But we're getting close to July 1st and you know what that means......it'll be back burner for this due to an open wheel build. I switched gears and did the wheels and covers. Each cover gets 16 of the little vanes. And each one had to be glued on. A very tedious task. After the covers were finished, I checked them for fit and then painted them white. Then the rims were painted black and valve stems installed. 552
