Hey guys! Just a thought that hit me at work because I'm a madman who scrolls through F1 images all day long, but do you think there would be an appetite for a thread where us Open Wheel nuts just posted kick-ass F1 images of cars that not only are amazing pics in and of themselves - but that would serve as great Reference material for anyone who decided to build the kit version of the car - or even inspire someone to build that particular car? Just a thought - here's is a sample of what I mean - with deep net dives you can find some rare up close shots of rare cars that never got a tonne of airtime so to speak. Good idea!! I love looking at those old cars and old photos. I got a thread going if you had any more pics you wanted to drop Adrian. It’s stickied on our group build page.

Alright folks, I have updated the roster. If you have multiple builds, then (thank you very much by the way) I’ve just added them to your existing line. Loving all the builds so far and it’s only August!!
also if I missed anyone so far please just let me know and I’ll make sure you’re added.

I've done a couple of F1/Indy cars but I get stalled in thinking on the order of painting/masking vs seams etc. Any pro-tips welcome.

I don’t know if it helps but I’ll usually tape or otherwise temporarily attach the body panels together and oftentimes also to the chassis pan to make sure I’m lined up. Then I do any livery related masking from there. Is this what you mean? Or is something else stalling you?

Thanks Kyle - that's the kind of info I'm looking for.

No problem. When tape to hold the body isn’t possible I’ve also used a touch of white glue here and there or even a sliver of CA. The white glue is of course easy to pull apart and clean up and the smallest amount of CA can stick some plastic together but be broken loose later with ease also. Just some ideas of what I do. I don’t know if it’s right or wrong.

I would like to take John up on his invitation for finish (hopefully) my Tamiya 1/20 Lotus Type 79 1979 here in this GB. I started a couple of years back as a part of a GB John was hosting elsewhere and stalled for a couple of years due to a move.
Joining this GB is my best chance of actually finishing it. Finally have my area more or less set up, gotta bite the bullet and do something sooner or later I reckon.
Here goes nothing on first image post...
And this is it's current state of confusion .... I mean, construction.

Great, thanks John.
It's nice to have a new place to call home to move this kit forward. Appreciate y'all letting me in the GB so far into the build.

Thank you!
So I'm one of those modelers who typically knows nothing about the 1:1 model (or genre), F1 cars are no exception for me. So I had to first figure out what "Cossie" referred to, then I cheated and looked it up and yes, according to Wikopedia, it was a Ford-Cosworth. So thanks to you, I learned something! Thanks!

I’m a gettin’ a little nutty here! I’ve a bit of an automotive itch of late so, I am entering this in Group Build. MPC Bantam Blast Dragster 1:25 Scale I’ve amassed a staggering three other auto-type kits and before I destroy those with my supreme lack of knowledge on shiny-painty-style finishes, I’ll go a little bananas with this kit first! I’ll be ordering it toot-sweet.
