Hey all. This is the official sub board for our Open wheel group build. This group build is for anything and everything open wheel. Formula 1, Indy car, Sprint cars, modifieds, F3000, Rails, whatever you guys want to build. keavdog and myself will be your hosts. It will run from July 1 of this year to July of next year so plenty of time for any long term projects. Also we don’t care if the project is already started. We just want to see a lot of people building these open wheel cars. Please build more than one entry. Drop your entry threads below anytime you'd like. I will also get a Gallery started up in the gallery section so we can have a place for finished builds. I am going to also list the participants in this post below with your initial entries. This kit and the Rat Trap Vega look to be identical with the exception of the body shell. I'll do these two at the same time for this build

It is pretty basic so a few control cables, fuel lines, plug wires, etc should go a long way to dressing it up. Looking at pictures of the real thing I don't think there are two the same so can't be "wrong" no matter how hard I try! |

My dad raced karts for years and that pretty much matches how his upright kart looked. (They had a laydown too for enduros). So I just think it's really cool. I need to just pick the kit up sometime. |

Lol. Actually two and there is more to it than you would think. I read somewhere that they are retooled since the original molds had the parts mixed in on the same sprues as the F100 pickup parts. Now that they are separate they could show up as a a Parts Pack release. Pic from the interwebs. I will take better as I build.  |

Hey guys! Just a thought that hit me at work because I'm a madman who scrolls through F1 images all day long, but do you think there would be an appetite for a thread where us Open Wheel nuts just posted kick-ass F1 images of cars that not only are amazing pics in and of themselves - but that would serve as great Reference material for anyone who decided to build the kit version of the car - or even inspire someone to build that particular car?  Just a thought - here's is a sample of what I mean - with deep net dives you can find some rare up close shots of rare cars that never got a tonne of airtime so to speak.  |
