Kyle, Just an impressive update. Love how the Indy Lola Cosworth paint is turning out. As a side note, looking at your build really brings back some fond memories of those racing years, and just how beautiful those cars were to the way the current generation of 2012 Dallaras look. To bad that we've yet to see if ever another run of these kits. I'd buy a good 1/2 dozen of each car type as Michael at Indy Cals has plenty of decal options. joel Thank you Joel!! And I couldn’t agree more. I could very happily build the entire grid of the ‘89 Indy 500. Every single car from Rick Mears in the Z7 Penske down to Rich Vogler in the Jonathan Byrd March had a really great livery. But where would I put a 1/25 scale Indianapolis front straightaway. Lol

After I got home from the races I went ahead and got a start on decals. Wanted them done before starting on suspension components and whatnot.

Lookin good! After my disaster decal experience on the Lotus 78 I always fear doing them.

Lookin good! After my disaster decal experience on the Lotus 78 I always fear doing them. Thank you. I know they can be intimidating. But after doing so many racecars Decals are now one of my favorite parts of a build process. Sure I still screw them up sometimes but I love doing them. I don’t get too worried about them now which also probably helps. Just keep building race cars and you’ll learn to love them too. Lol.

That sure is a flashy yellow paint job Kyle. Gonna have to try that pink primer out when I do any more yellow paint work. Sorry to hear about the bulkhead and I know all too well what you're talking about in misplacing it. If you're like me, you'll find it right after you install the engine. lololol

Kyle, So with all those 397 extra kits, and I only have two in the stash, I can see me begging to buy or trade for a few.
The engine/transmission metallics really do kick the finish up several steps on the ladder. For the decals I can see, you're doing one heck of a job laying them down.

Nice progress Kyle. And like Joe said, you'll find that bulkhead right after you install the replacement

And thank you very much!! Nice progress Kyle. And like Joe said, you'll find that bulkhead right after you install the replacement Thanks Paul. And you guys are definitely right about the bulkhead. As soon as I don’t need it anymore. 🤦🏻♂️ Lol

Final dry fits took place so I could finalize the installation of the engine and suspension bits. Happy with how it all looks for what it is. Still need to sand on tires and do some more clearancing on the engine cover. It’s close but is still popped up a bit. The end is in sight now.

Kyle,
You knocked this one out of the park for sure. Just outstanding painting and decal work. These kits are all about display presentation, and your Kraco Lola belongs right up front.
But you also showed me that it's not necessary to do the extreme front suspension surgery, which has been holding me back for years in not starting my two kits. And when I've got the 1st built, I'll be in touch for a few more especially as Indy Cals has practically the entire field covered.

I just decided long ago that all that surgery wasn’t worth it on a kit like this. So I just build them for fun. If you build one of yours and enjoy it then definitely reach out. I have a few more lying around here. Thank you very much Andy. Much appreciated.

Great job Kyle. It looks like Bobby went off line into the marbles before he came into the pits.
