'66 Shelby GT350H

Tried a few new firsts with this one. Mainly, stripping the chrome parts and repainting them with the AK Interactive Extreme Chrome. What I failed to realize was I needed to put the chrome over a semi gloss or gloss paint. First go round ended up over the Mr. Surfacer black primer.
Entire kit had to be brake bathed. The bumpers were brake bathed a 2nd time so I could reprime them and lay down a coat of semi gloss black. They still didn't turn out nearly as well as I had hoped. The rims turned out ok I guess. With fading eyes and ever shaking hands, some of the fine painting is lacking on this one.

Revell came through on this. I did contact them about the missing head. They sent me two the following week. A lot faster than the last parts. The side rear windows were molded too small to fit, so I opted to use the window covers to hide the gap.Though I'm calling it done, I need to chrome the door and trunk locks and finish the battery. Will do another wipe with the policy cloth and get some of the white scratch compound out of the cracks.

Painted in Created Charcoal Metallic Gray, cleared with Createx ULV Clear.

This came together nicely, well done! I like the fenced in yard style diorama also. Nice!

The natural light really highlights the fantastic finish on this! I really like the outdoor shots.

Very nice! Great color choice. That chrome paint can be a learning curve. I hate all of it. haha. Haven't gotten very repeatable results with anything yet. This looks really great, and I love the wheels. Awesome photography as well.

In the front of that garage in the background, all wrapped up in blankets and tarps, is a bright red '66 Shelby. Our neighbour's son joined the U.S. Army and went off to Vietnam leaving strict instructions not to touch it. The following winter his fiancé decided to take it for a spin. She made it about 100 yards before spinning into a pole and rolling it on it's side in the ditch. It was a total write off.

They did but it didn't last for long.
