Mirage 2000C `Tigermeet`

Thought i`d have ago at another one of these wingy wotsits being as they seem to be hitting the spot at the mo......................this ones a tad more modern than the Raider tho!!!..........................and a dam sight freakin` faster ;D

It`s the Eduard Mirage kindly sent to me from CB



I`ve started dry running bits and bobs so everything ya see is dry fitted at the mo....................the drop tanks needed a bit of TLC as did the front of the wings and the same at the rear of the wings................only minor bit of filling so nothing major





Some of the under cracker detail (primed)



Next up is the headache part...................check out that gap by the wingroot!!! .................both sides are the same!!!!



And how she looks now...............this is the best i can get the warpage to look.................

This was 90% rectified by adding a brass brace across the worst affected area.................i can`t brace any more because the inner wheel bays are in the way......................personally i think it looks ok,





The drop tanks with the black base coat ready for a good few hours/days masking for the `Tiger` stripes!!



The PE for the office............



The planned design.................there are 5 or 6 other camo jobs but this is the harder one to do regarding the `Tiger` stuff.............and i like it ;D





Thats it for the mo chaps, this ain`t gonna be a speedy build due to the intricate masking and it`s also got PE : ::)o......................as a few of ya know...................me and PE have a total loathing of each other (((LOL))) ;D

Thanks Mark..............good question about the black, i need to get away from a lemony type yellow if ya know what i mean, it needs to be a more deeper type yellow so i was going to add a touch of maybe brown to it............did think of re priming the black with maybe a white but i think it will make the yellow to light ...................and i`ve just run out of Halfords Grey , maybe i could give it a light pass with and off white of some sort!!

Dam Mark I saw the fuselage together, WHAT!? he's already that close to being done, then I saw the tape. Looking good! I think we have a new wingyist in are mist! ;D

67...........Decs would have been a tad quicker and easier but i`m relishing the paint challenge fella, should look nice if it comes off ok . glad ya made it ;D

Hey mucka........yeah the warp/s needed a bit of juggling but they`re not too bad now, if i took the bracing higher into the fuse it will put too much strain on the top half join............thats why i did it low and flattened the ends to allow the wings to seat properly ...........next up i need Dicky to knock me up a spacer for the rear afterburner ;D!!

Mark...........yes mate i will be using Tams with a slight mix to take that `Lemony` look out...........a decent light base will help tho, Dicky mentioned a couple GW foundation based paints which will help

Matt, she is a sweet looking bird i have to say............just had a nose at how many decs there are for her ...................70+ !!! , the `Tigermeet` pattern doesn`t come as a dec so that all adds to the challenge ;D

Lui, yeah i`m looking forward to doing the `TM` pattern, just in the process of masking up the tailfin..........that ain`t no quick job i`ll tell ya ..................like ya say she is a good looking camo and it`ll be worth it in the end ...................as for the few probs, it`s nothing a bit of jiggery pokery won`t sort out ;D

oK fellas a small update.....................don`t look like much but this has taken me hours to do and there is the other pod to do yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!. the `Tigermeet` design has begun using Tamiya masking sheet cut to the appropriate shapes....................the pods have had a bit of artistic licence as trying to replicate the pattern from the pics is a bit hit and miss................it ain`t far off tho believe you me!!

The tailfin.............those two little bits of paper have the remainder of the shape still stuck to them so i can continue the exact shape onto the tailfin root which is on the fuselage......





You can see in this pic exactly what i mean regading carrying the pattern further down ontp the raised part of the fuse........



Next up is one of the drop tanks.............quite pleased with this so far but i may put a couple more small thin pieces in yet.......waddya reckon ??.................does it need it or does it look ok ;D







Thats enough for this evening and i`m gonna grab a cold un now..............me eyes and head are done in at the mo ;D

An absolutely Fandabidosie piece of masking there matey!!! ;D ;D....They'll look freakin awesome,if ya don't get a bleed!...May I suggest you give the mask a squirt of the black basecoat,afore you put the yellow on.The Yellow will not bleed then!!

Thank ya kindly Mark ;D...............i do have some Tam semi-gloss black so i can give it a few gentle mists just to seal the tape edges.............a nice steady pressure in the AB should do the trick ..........man ya learn soooo much on this site ;D

Feeling quite pleased with that i moved onto one of the drop tanks....
