Hello folks!! As some of you may noticed my banner under my signature, I have begun work on a review/build for Scalemodeladdict.com and Hobby Link Japan of the Hikawa Maru. This is a beautiful ship and the Hasegawa kit does her justice. A video and written review are located here: www.scalemodeladdict.com/index.php/topic,7415.0.html Along with the review, contained in the same thread I will be building this step by step.....please take a moment to stop by and check out the progress!! Just click on my signature banner or the picture below!! Thank You!!! A teaser shot!!

Definitely Staying buddy, I'll be doing another maiden voyage due to our local GB and get some revenge from the North Chapter, they sweep most of the categories

Thank Dicky!! Her lines are very majestic!! I will be adding weathering but will attempt to keep it all in perspective I suppose, nothing to over the top to take away from those Lines!!

Thanks Guys!!!
It does look like a heck of a lot of tape...actually only a couple of 10" pieces or so cut into itty bitty pieces!!!
jackwagon - I thought that way in the beginning but being 1/350 most of the small bits...cleats and whatnot are just a hair above flush on the deck and the pieces would have been much smaller and I would have been much blinder!!! There are a few deck pieces missing from this picture....with all of them I was able to mask them all off in a couple hours easily!
The weathering of the deck is up next after these sections are painted and then I can move onto some assembly!!!
Thanks for having a peek!!

That is some beautiful looking deck T! Are you sure you didn't use the wood deck AM?LOL!!! By the looks I think the wood would have been less fun!

Holy cow! Love the work on wood deck! Did you airbrush or paint by hand on the smaller details?

Thank you very much ER! Thanks Pete! I kind of agree. Not just the saved $$$ in using the kits supplied deck, but the fun of getting this to look like one!!! Thanks Andy! With the extra little effort of the masking, I was able to AB all the smaller parts!! Much cleaner lines the deck and the fixtures!
