Hi fellas ;D This morning I was checking out the forum and reading through Rob's how to do a 'range target' thread. I started watching the vids and it got me inspired...Although it wasn't planned I decided to have a go at my first wreck. A couple of years ago I received a free kit from the US of A, a fellow modeller called Collin S (some people might remember him from the MM forum) sent me a Dragon kit of the Jagdpanzer IV/70A also called 'Zwischenlösung' (though I don't think the Germans called it like that, just like with the 'Königstiger' and 'Brummbär') Initially I planned to keep this kit to build it with a lot of etch. But since I wanted to have a go at a wreck and didn't want to spent money I thought it was suitable for the job. This is where I am after a half day of work: plan is to depict a JP IV/70A which was taken out during the Battle of the Bulge (an impact hole underneeth the engine deck is visible, this is what nailed her)...the crew tried to recover her but had to bail out. Afterward the US troops used it to see what their bang bangs could do. After a year or so she still sits rusty in the Ardennes...well, that's what I planned anyway, dunno if it is going to turn out that way ;D Hope you fellas like it a bit and lookin' forward to your support! Cheers

oh damn, you had to start this one Wouts. I have the same kit and am trying very hard not to start it. Now you've given me the mojo to open it....but I will refrain from doing so. Anyways, good that the vids gave you some inspiration to try a wreck. Great start so far mate, everything is spot on so far. Will be following this one for sure.
VERY COOL

nice to have such a response I must say thanks for the vote of confidence fellas, sure feels great and more at ease knowing you gents are tagging along with me! T: I saw that new kit a while ago and was very itchy not to buy it lol ;D Rob: just open up the box and let your magic work out...on the other hand...still waiting for the JP to continue ;D Yeah, the vid sure did it for me...originally I didn't want to wreckerize this one. But glad I've started it. Pitty there isn't an interior though (not even a gun breach!!!!), otherwise I would have tried some more extensive damage...oh well, let's see what we can do with this one ;D just noticed something btw....the instructions suggest to add three return rollers on each side...but both the box art and photos show that it should be four...figures ...it teaches me to do some more research before starting ;D Cheers

Looks like an easy fix though Wouts...if you need to change to 4 returns. I think those are the square placements I am seeing in the pics? True I think I have seen more Pz.IV L/70(V)'s with 3 vs 4 but still unclear on the (A) or a least some of the only 278 that were made that could have the three return roller set up!

Matt, thanks mate, I will, tomoz I will post some more shots T, thanks for the heads up mate, and thanks for the help on the tracklink count! My granny passed away last night...age 91: she had a very good life (this year we even celebrated my grandsparents 65th wedding anniversary, respect!)...never is fun to say goodbye to people, even when they got a respectful age...poor granddad left behind. But she's in a better place now together with one of me bro's Anywhoo, despite the bad news I managed to make a start at one trackrun (I had some extra time available because some retards decided to go on strike again in 6 weeks...), tomorrow I'm home so be able to do some more ^^ Cheerio

Great start!!! Can't wait to see how it comes out. With your permission can I shoot my BB gun at it too? No? I thought it was used as range target...
Missed the grandma passing away part... very sorry to hear about this! You and your family are in my thoughts...

BJ: thanks bro, most appreciated Dickster, thanks buddy, 91 sure is a nice age indeed! Didn't think you were ignoring the thread btw, there's so much going on here it's hard to keep up with everything ^^ Andy, thanks bro! And no, you can't use your BB gun on mine ;D Gary, you sure are right mate, and glad you joined here! Steve, thanks fella! And about the return roller thing, well, it turns out that late versions of this one (built December '44 and onwards) had only three, so lucky me ey ;D Spuddie! Thanks mate, yeah, she got some good companion up there indeed. And welcome at the thread! Bodge, thanks partner Tony, you are darn right about that mate...quite sure if my granddad would pass away I wouldn't see a big part of my family...well, not that I would mind...the ones you like will always be in touch ^^ Hi Martyn, thanks for joining bud! Luigi, many thanks mate, and welcome Hiya T, thanks bud, 65 years sure is impressive, don't think many people experience that these days. And rest assured, no agression here , thought I did have quite some time to continue the build Hiya Robbo, welcome bud! well, I've done the tracks yesterday and a part of today. Added some more details as well. Except for some smaller stuff the build is almost finished. I'm considering of leaving the left drive sprocket off...but has someone photos of the PzIV drivetrain without the sprocket attached? Cheers

thanks a lot T, yeah, lightning speed in my terms ey ;D...that's one of the advantages to keep things simple and built it OOB I guess I saw some shots indeed of shorttracked PzIV's in one of my Panzerwreck books, this was done for fast recovery. Sadly though, on those photos the drive train casing were removed as well. And since I want to keep this one simple and fast, I can't build it like that...so I'm searching for shots with the drive train casing still attached to the hull, but without the sprocket...hope this makes sense a bit Guy, missed you nearly there mate! Thanks a lot, wouldn't want to call it masterclass I think, that's more the league of yourself and others here on site, but thanks anyway ^^ Cheers
