LOL...That is a monster!! Tell from the WIIIIIIIDE shot!! Boot-stripe looks pretty good my friend!! If there is an area wider, it shouldn't be too bad. Take your time masking and all is good. Not trying to get you to spend dough here...Tamiya tape has the 4mm & 5mm tape. Lay down the tape on your bottom line and add the lower big tape masking over that. You do not have to be too care full as you have a mask down. I have cut my own too from blue tape...used a piece of styrene flat stock...thinking there is 3, 4 and 5mm stock widths. I would ask if you were bringing this to the workshop next weekend...but I don't think this you and Ty can fit in the car!!!

Thanks Dicky! Why yes! Yes it is! Thanks Andy! The word I would use is colorful! Thanks T! Not sure I'll have her done by then. But if I do, I may! Too late on the tape! I got Tami's 6,10,18,40, and tristar 3.5. Tried the blue stuff and one to many "What the bleepin bleep!" Thanks Leon! There have been days where I've stared going, should I or shouldn't I?..........Should I seems to win alot!LOL!

WOW! Just fantastic... it is going to be a great ship. Only one bottle of paint used? Probably one gallon bottle I bet...
Your hard work on PE is paying off... sorry about the decal incident... I won't be too concerned about the decals as it looks like an easy fix with replacement decal or you can even paint those numbers yourself.

Hope you can get the decal issue sorted out quickly! What exactly went wrong with the two decals, was it silvering or something else?
Nice job with the gray, that hull and waterline combo look very sharp.

Thanks prof! Tamiya is sending a decal sheet as I type, but Gold Medal Models is sold out!
Thanks Bill! I masked off the lower part of the island to spray the upper, and when I pulled the tape off the decals came with it. I thought two coats of flat over the decals would seal them........

Ouch! Masking tape can be brutal on decals, no question about it. Glad to hear Tamiya's on the ball for your replacements.

Thanks T! You know I think I might bring her! Thanks Phil! I was actually more disheartened than pissed! The AB I used was my trusty Badger Patriot! My Krome doesn't like Polyscale too much, but Patriot runs what ever I put through it! Thanks Dicky! I thought about that but the little Big on the Big E decal I don't think I could do!

I agree with my esteemed fellow MSCers regarding the deck markings...unless you're planning to show the Big E on commissioning day, some wear and tear would be appropriate...you could even add some 'skid marks' around the arresting lines when you get to that point for some added realism to show her 'in service' so to speak. Work is really paying off on this shelf queen, look forward to more!

Agreed... seeing all of those great video clips of the aircraft carriers the surface is smeared with burnt rubber. Just google and you will find plenty of images... so far I think it is still looking great!!!
