Here are the closeups! The padeyes were done using a white craft pencil and about an hour and a half of time. Since I'm going with a slightly used look I think I got them pretty close to looking worn.

Hey everyone! Sorry about the delay in posts I kinda had blocked in the building department. Ok here we go! After I raided my wife's sewing box I found the what looked to be the right size thread to wrap the hose reels with. I first glued one end of the tread to the reel and let it dry. Once dry I cut each at 16in lenghts then wrapped each one. After about the 20th one I began to wonder what I got myself into.... but the finial result is worth it!




Next are the flightdeck decals. GMM's decals are great but you will need a straight edge and a knife because the deck and elevator stripes are printed rather close together. After a coat of future I applied the decals and used a small touch of Mr mark softer to get them to settle.

Worth the effort all the way Pete!! Nice job on the reels!!! As the entire project!! Love this when I seen it in person!! Getting better each time I see it! I don't envy painting the whole air wing but comes with the territory. If you think about Dupes and his monster project you will get through this with no problem!!!

I think Dupes is going to need some help with that one. As crazy as it sounds I hope he tries for a full hull, but this is coming from a guy that would crazy enough to try!

Hiya folks! Things haven't been going as well I like but I have gotten some bench time here and there. Ok the airwing is for the most part all together, the only thing left is to put the radomes on the E2 Hawkeyes. The reason I'm leaving them off is that it will make it easier to paint the two tone camo. Most of the aircraft had the fuselage as one piece,only having to glue the vertical stabilizers and landing gear on. The E2's had me gluing the engines and the radomes(soon)also. The S2's also needed the engines installed. The A7's are a two piece fuselage with a separate main wing,horizontal stabilizers and landing gear. The SH-3 Seakings were also a two part fuselage with separate sponsons, main and tail rotors and horizontal stabilizer. The main rotors are a two part affair when you want to have them stowed. I took the time to drill out all the tailpipes on the aircraft, the S2's also had the intakes done. I tried on some of the others but was not very successful, fingers and finger nails don't react well to drillbits. LOL! Also the A6's will need some ballast to keep the nose gear on the ground, er, deck. Got lots of pic for ya!
















































YES I haven't put any ballast in yet so stop laughing!!
