Damn good job painting the figs, especially the faces. Very realistic. I can only aspire to this.

Finally finished figure #4, Verlinden Productions #2427, German Panzergrenadier Machine Gunner, Super Scale 200mm. I used another head From ReeDees Miniatures, set HS-09-01, a much better selection from what came with the kit. Great work once again Stevo! Weathering and final touches will be added once all the figures are set to the base, but for now, he's in the cabinet awaiting further orders, lol. All comments welcome and thx for watchin. Cheers, Ski.

Thx Leon, WildBill and Deaf, appreciate it.
Ya, that smock pattern was a royal headache until I figured out how to get the hash marks on there. The head was redone 4x's, that was the real bugger. It just didn't want to cooperate, lol.
Thx for watchin Gents. Cheers, Ski.

Steve, I agree with Andy another masterpiece! One addition that could help to finish it off is to add a little wear dirt to the inside off the anklets where they would rub together as the soldier walk/marches. I base this on my own experience as I was in the British Army when Anklets Web were still in use. ( they were never called Gaiters as Gaiters were worn by Bishops.) We always being put on show parades for this dirty Anklets Web "crime", Oh happy days. Cheers Steve for showing this great model and making me remember when life was lived at high speed amongst some great characters. Dennis

Dennis Excellent info Dennis, greatly appreciated, will certainly have to remember that. Might ya have a few pics for reference? If I got em plastered along my model bench rails I will remember to get em done, lol. Once I get all the figures completed and base set-up/built I'll approach the figures and blend em into the scene, which is when all the weathering will take place. Main thing is to get the bikes blended in correctly and not over done. That's my biggest fear, jackin up the bikes, so I will be heavy into research and photo investigations for a realistic finish. Thx for the input Dennis and thx for watchin. Cheers, Ski.

Hi Ski, I have had a trawl through my references and have chosen a picture of re-enactor wearing Anklets Web over his Ammunition Boots. The Anklets Web are in parade ground condition (almost) and are covered in Blanco, (a preservative coating). Your models Anklets look to be in their natural uncovered state. I have arrowed and circled the area where you may consider applying some wear, as this is the area where contact with the opposite ankle /foot happens, this wear takes the shape of almost polished darker coloured area. I hope this helps you mate. Dennis

Sorry I don't know much about Tanks, Soldiers and Guns but I know a little about motorcycles and these bikes you have built are looking fantastic. Engine and exhaust weathering is excellent. Also you did a great job on Deano's Garage. - Really nice work.

Come weathering time I'll incorporate that type of wear. Cheers, Ski.

Also you did a great job on Deano's Garage. - Really nice work. Thx Kiwi, appreciate the kind words. Yes, those bikes were a lot of detailed work, but a ton of fun actually. After the base gets done I'll be concentrating heavily on accurate weathering, etc. I can't torch all that work due to overzealous weathering, lol. Ya, Deanos Garage, just had breakfast with that retired bugger this morning. Can ya believe it, he says he's bored. I reminded him a bit of sniffin paint and gluin them fingers together will kill boredom in a heart beat, but he was buyin it, HA! Thx for watchin. Cheers, Ski.

Howdy Yall, Hoping 2016 will be another great paint sniffin, finger gluin, New Year for everyone. Here's the R75 Driver in progress. Slowly but surely he's coming along. Still plenty to do, but here's an update Gents. Still need to figure out the insignia on the helmets. Soon it will be time to knock out the punch list on all the figures and start basic weathering on the bikes, then that mighty base. Oh boy, what ever did I get myself into??? Cheers, Ski.

Leon, Wouter, Steve and Mr T., thx for the encouragement Gents.
Yep, I'm still alive. I'll be working this one today, finishing the top portion so I can work the trousers, etc. I have a few more war flicks to keep the momentum rolling as I paint.
That dang War Thunder is addictive, so I have learned to limit myself, somewhat, lol.
Cheers, Ski.

Howdy Yall, I've been busy making my first attempt at chipping on the R75 sidecar, very tedious work. I'll take my lickins and improve on the Harley, but I'm pretty sure I can tone down some of these over zealous attempts at making it look real. Needless to say, I'm not completely ecstatic about the outcome, but yall feel free to comment. Please don't pull any punches. I'm not afraid to go back and do it again or tone it down if I have to. I've redone many things in the past, I'm still learning to be patient, lol. At any rate, see what yall think, I'm all ears, and thx for watchin. Cheers, Ski.

I'm a bit of a lurker where this thread is concerned - I just couldn't think of much to say feedback-wise, apart from patting you on the back for the great job you've been doing, and the others have done a much more eloquent job of that than I could have done already. But now you're in my world : sidecars - I've got the Russian version (see my avatar), and finally feel qualified to give you some feedback. Most of your chipping is spot on, but on the sidecar I'd add some to the bottom bit of the front - that doesn't half get a hammering, but I'd tone down the ones at side of the front edge where the pannier is fitted - the pannier would take the brunt of anything scratchy. I'd also add some chipping on and around the boot-handle. From personal experience I know that the paint around the trenching tool (shovel) and its brackets gets a hammering. On the bike I'd get rid of the chipping on the front of the tank - the cylinder and leg-guard would get anything out of the way that might cause damage. The gear-change on the other hand could do with more, as could the tank cap and the area around it. The lid of the access to the airfilter (I think that's what it is, on mine it's a toolbox) in the tank could do with a bit more around the knob on the top, which is the fastener that keeps it shut. The frame should have a lot less chipping under the saddle and where the kickstart comes down IMO - neither the kickstart nor the boot kicking it ever hits the frame. But over-all you've achieved a stunning result and I'm utterly envious of your work. Looking forward to more!
