This is about where I left off other than the storage box on the back was painted. To refresh those that remember this one and show the newer people as to what i've done to this not so great kit here are some pics from the past. Here's the AM I bought with hopes of improving the build: There's only one marginal picture of the interior that's known so I had to do a bit of cutting and scratch building to get close to what we know of the interior. Also built two wall ammo lockers and added some spare details from the junk box to the drivers compartment: Some more scratch and junk box bits: That's should bring you back to the present. All the components have been recovered and I reccan we're ready to get back to work again. Stayed tuned ;D Tony

Yep the rumors are true and only nine more to go. There's two on the bench Seven on the shelf beside the bench. That track fortress is only a fill in project. Tony

Tony, I'm one of the guys who didn't know this build. Thanks for sharing the older pics ! The scratched conversion will make it kinda special, you did very well having just one vague photo of the interior ! Good to see the Friuls on it, my favorite brand of tracks. As usual with artillery stuff the gun looks fragile but you built it very clean.
I look forward to see the nextload of pics coming !!!
Best regards ! Guy.

Hi Ian The book is very useful and the tracks I couldn't do without but the PE and gun you could pass on. One of the other Marder kits by Tamiya has the same gun and you could get one of those kits cheaper i'm sure and throw the rest in the spares box.
BTW what ever became of your American SPG project?
Tony

I wish BJ Couple of days ago I was setting up to paint some and the AB fell out of the holder and bent the dang needle which was new and only used to paint the 76,new one is on order. Plus with the holidays so close I can't get much done for friends and family calling or coming by to make merry. Since the "Dec. 21,2012" countdown has started I need to stay busy. Happy Holidays Everyone Tony and Catherine

Thanks Chris I was wondering why progress had stopped on your Marder. Mine only fell maybe two inches onto a padded surface and still it bent 90 degrees Later bud Tony

Oh yeah "T" the new needle and nozzle came in yesterday. I stripped it down and let it soak all night for a good cleaning and put it all back together so she's standing by for action. The wife has already started her goody baking. Tony

Finished? ?? "Not Before It's Time"just like a fine wine. ;D The tracks are ready to be refitted though. SBS: Dipped in track black AK Interactive track wash Light wash of W/N Burnt Sienna Light wash of W/N Raw Umber On the road wheel side I used one of those art eraser pencils where the tires rides on the track. Lastly I rubbed the cleats down with AK Interactive Dark Steel pigment instead of sand papering them. After all is said and done they will get a coat of MIG Russian Dust pigment. See Ya Later Tony

Nice looking Tracks Tony! I agree with Dicky. Nice to see the polished area on the tracks. Back in the mid 90’s, when I used to build for IPMS compition. I painted my tracks with the polished areas. The judge would come up and say…….Oh yeah, nice build, but the tracks are a little too shinny……….I asked him if he ever seen a bull dozer after it ran through the dirt all day…………He just gave me that deer in the head lights look………
