I was looking through the DML #6589 that's the newer Jagdpanzer IV kit that has zimm,i'll be building it as the L/48(V). They say it's the same kit as #6397 without zimm and I believe it. I went through all the sprues of #6589 and cut out the NO USE parts, talk about stocking the spares box. I call that more than a few ;D Tony

Hi Guys It's Monday and time to go back to the work bench. As I said we'll be starting on the L/48(V) and the L/70(V) The L/48 is being built from the DML #6589 kit with zimmerit. It's pretty much the same other than the gun and a few minor differences as the L/70. If this plastic was a cream color instead of gray you would think it was a Tamiya kit the way the parts fit,it's great, details are crisp and sharp too. The non working suspension is a little bit of a let down and nothing inside but radios and the gun breech. Looking forward to cleaning up the wheels tomorrow, yeah right. Heavy rain on the way and misery loves company. Cheers Tony

It's Show Time You know what's nice about building two kits of the same AFV from the same manufacturer? You know where to find the parts and how they are installed, sure makes the second one build faster. Number four of the series the L/70(V) DML#6397 Late Fit is just as tight as the zimm kit I even built the L/70 gun That vertical cylinder between the breech block and the swivel mount is part# G-5. The instructions failed to mention it,imagine that. All in a days work. Road Wheels="Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow." ;D Until then Tony

Man I'd get that kit just for the gun, about time we have a kit with a decent gun and mount in it. As with the first three builds, looking forward to this one Tony..
....aaaaah yes the wheels, the fun part eh.

Instead of WMDs we would still be fighting with sticks and rocks The world would only have to deal with pop knots then Tony

Tony
Looking very nice mate, I always breathe a sigh of relief when the road wheels are together, it's always such a big part of any german AFV build.
cheers Rossco

Hey Tony, looking fantastic! With all the detail they put into the gun don't you wish it had a full interior.

I was wondering when the wheel madness would overtake you Tony! Nice to see you've survived that particularly mind-numbing aspect of this mass-production effort.

Yeah some sort of interior would've nice. Those wheels are just another mud hole in lifes road ;D Now here's what I call a real "V" twin The spare tracks were moved to the rear in an effort to take some of the weight off this nose heavy machine. They also cut the lower corners off the manlet, every little bit helped. I think i'll sit in my recliner tomorrow and build Friuls,my back is broke. Tony Forgot one: what's under the top cover

The twins look great Tony. Man that's a lot of wheels you've had to clean up, for four models...wow
