Some history I stumbled upon when I first saw that beautiful monster : It was meant to be a minefield cleaning device, the big wheels in front were made to be so heavy and hard that the mines couldn't break them. If I recall correctly only 4 prototypes were built and none saw action. One was captured by the russians and is the one which the model is based upon. It was too heavy, slow and difficult to steer to be effective. It turned usin that small wheel in the back, moved by a chain link. Definitely a fascinating useless device Thats funny, thanks. Great job so far Rob. I think the reason we all like it is because it is a big chunk of metal. Therefore, a great weathering canvas.

Thanks fellas for the comments, mucho gratsias
I've done a bit more to it but no pics at this time.
Matt I have been wanting to do an all metal and primer vehicle for a couple of years, and this big chunk of metal is perfect. Big and ugly, but a blast to paint.

Just another small update for you. I have added more layers of the raw steel weathering and painting. Right now it's all acrylics using the sponge tech, brushes, filters and washes. Like I always say, it's all in the layers. I'm still having fun ;D oh yeah, as for the mag, no telling yet

Hello Rob, Greetings to the Boss, What the F#"&ck are you building now? This "thing" is just what ... You like isn't it The first 'minenraumer' in plastic... and what a kit ! I just love the variations in color you bring in to it! Specially the color of the raw material. Raw steel i mean. In the first (detail) pic i have seen a result of painting i can't do on this moment. You mentioned this is only done by using sponge and weathering techniques... (no hairspray?) Can you please give us the method how you achieved this result? (witch colors u used? and the order of appearance) I hope you can find the time to write it down. (just the steps ,no pics wanted) Thank you for sharing ! Grtz, Gert

Thanks fellas for the kind words.
Gert, i'll see what I can do bud, but can't promise anything yet. Don't want to give away to much and ruin the big plan.
Spud (LOL) you crack me up bud. There will be more done to that ugly side my friend. Needed to add variation so it got the fresh rust.
Been doing some chipping on the hatches and also more layers on the panels. Long process but fun at the same time. I'll get a pic or two up later.

Can't wait to see the new pictures. The ones I already saw are fantastic. How did you get to write those numbers in a so "chalky" way?

Wait no longer Luigi. I have started some of the streaking using AK streaking grimes. just to see what she will look like and also to start the layering of the enamels. The chipping on the hatches and the rear vent covers will get touched up with a better small brush. Will get more done today I hope.

(((LOL))) Thanks Spud. I'm not too happy with it because I used an old small brush and not my better chipping brush. Just for you, I'll work that one side panel a little to make you happy. Keep in mind that there will still be A LOT more going on this baby. Lots of filters, streaking, staining, grease oil, dust etc etc etc. The chalk marks are done with a white grease pencil thingie I nipped from the missus some time ago. She used this for her finger nails ??

Thank you jackwagon, you are too kind my friend. There is still a lot that I have to work on to get it perfect, still trying for the most realistic rust possible. Guy, thanks bud.
I worked on it a bit more but got side tracked. Will try to get a pic up in a bit. Going out tonight so bench time tomorrow I hope.

Took a few quick pics for a final update for today. Streaking grime for the streaks in the form of AK rain marks...love that color. Did some work on the one side since it wasn't to spud's liking much more to do there. Will let this all dry before working with other colors, and of course more rust. Thanks for looking all.

LOL.......thanks Spud. more fun with each layer and the results aren't too bad. I'm still not quite 100% happy but I know when the weathering starts it will liven up. Will be switching back to acrylics soon, then AK effects, then acrylics.....you know the deal....layer after layer.

Thanks John. Some weathering has been done, but the real weathering will be the dust, earth oil, grease etc. Will be painting a bit more then back to chipping and weathering. Will also get some primer on the track/pads. An ugly rainy day today.... ;D that means bench time for me.
