Hey guys. Just an update of what I’ve been working on the last couple of days. I got the top piece of this painted on the underside on Saturday and I spent yesterday in front of ESPN watching EURO action and trying to get the thing to fit. This kit has no shortage of detail. An awful lot of angles have to come together perfectly here. And the slightest warping would throw it off. Throw in the fit issue of the rear armor plate (where the doors attach) and there was a lot of holding and reglueing☹ . I made it though. A couple hours and a lot of clamping and cursing and a spot of putty and this is what she looks like. Today, I got the wheels prepped and ready for paint. No small feat. And I also installed the fenders. She’s starting to look like a HT now. The harsh angles make the overall silhouette of this girl outstanding don’t you think? This won’t be my last Hanomag. Let me know what you think guys. This is gonna be my last post for about 10 days, since I’m off to London and France tomorrow☺.

Nice job getting all the angles to line up Nate even if you did have to grow another hand to make it happen.

Thanks guys. Yep, here's the paint. Here it is with primer and a shading coat. Vallejo German Grey + white on the highlights. I also got a clear coat (future) on later last night in preparation for decals. Decals will go on today and another clear coat. Then it'll be the sand coat over top with masked crosses etc. Let me know what you think fellas. Cheers.

Hey guys, here’s an update. Man, summer time is busy! I just got back from a weekend soccer (friendly) tournament with my team. I was able to get a lot done on the Hanomag yesterday. I masked the decs and put a couple coats of desert tan on, after putting down a base of HS. The color is Tamiya desert yellow with a touch of Tamiya red brown. I did the highlights with the same mix with added white. It didn’t get as light as I hoped, so I highlighted again, this time I started with white and darkened it with my desert mix. These are after the second highlight. I’m going for that sun faded look to the top and large panels. I think with washes and weathering, this will darken and be more subtle. When I practiced on my PzII, I think it ended up too dark, so this is why I’m making sure it stays light colored☺ with decals unmasked and some chipping… I lost the front left DAK palm decal, had to raid another kit to replace it☹ any suggestions for avoiding that in the future would be cool. I’m still going to do more chipping, both with water and with a brush/new paint. I’m also going to hit the areas around the decals a bit to soften the transition just a touch. The wheels are a little darker, I didn’t highlight them the last time. I’m trying to achieve a bit of a CM effect. I still have to paint the rubber☺ I’m getting close on this build and like the direction that it is going. I just have Tracks (which I’ve started☺), more chipping, washes, and weathering. Any and all comments will be welcome. Cheers
