Like I said, I’ve been busy with life and have had some time to build, just not to post:(. So here’s what else I’ve been up to. I’m thinking german grey with a DAK desert color on top. And perhaps a big ole tarp:)! I was hesitant to try this brand, but have to say that I’m pretty much impressed. I’ve had only one minor issue where parts didn’t line up (on a hitch piece). Though I haven’t got to the tracks yet ! They look pretty good though. It’s been a fairly straight-forward build with good, clear directions and minor filing. Here’s the undercarriage/running gear. Fit was nice. Engine has some pretty good detail and a number of parts were added. Interior detail is pretty nice. Clean-up was easy and fit was nice. Building was stalled, however, when it came to the side walls. The kit comes with 8 K98s and 2 MP40s and the way they are to be installed required detail painting of these and the side walls interior before attaching the sides. The K98s go inside that box on the side, so I need to paint both before. The good news is the rifles and smg’s are well made with very little to no flash. There are also molded holes in each stock (all are open and clean!) for a strap. I’ll finish painting the rifles today. Let me know what you think. Cheers!

Very nice, it's incredible how many different wheeled vehicles were used by the germans...
Looks like a nice kit.

Rob: Get it down man! Chris: It will but it will only peak through the desert yellow;) Fellas: So, been hard at it again today. Got about a million projects going now that school is out:) (yippee!!). Worked on a lot of little fiddly bits today and got them prepped for paint. Lots of little boxes to put together:) Radios… Also got a bunch done on the Vehicle itself. Interior and engine fitted. It’s coming together now. Had a bit of trouble with the rear angled panel. didn't want to fit properly. gonna have to do some weld bead work to fill those gaps you can see in the pic:) Tommorow, gonna put the radio rack together and start painting ! I hope to get a start on the interior and the engine. I should get a good deal more bench time with school being over, so I’m jazzed about that and my mojo couldn’t be any better . Let me know what you think all. Cheers.

Hey Nate,
It looks like a very nice kit so far. that gap shouldn't be to bad to fill. And as Rob said, pics are looking a lot better!

Looking great... good process so far! I haven't build a kit from Zvezda before so I will be following with interest. Bad pictures are better than no pictures at all!!!

Making good progress on this one Nate, those radios ought to provide lots of opportunity for wiring and detailing.

Not sure of the release date Gary, but it is a pretty decent kit. I've only had one fit issue so far (the rear angled back plate, that will hold the rear doors, took some adjusting to fit). Here you go... Hey guys, quick update. I got some paint down on the interior did a little chipping and detail painting. Also got the radios painted and ready to go in. I’m skipping the super detailing with wires and whatnot cuz I’m gonna put a tarp over most of it anyway. I got some oil wash on for tonight and some AK wash on the seats. Letting it dry overnight, then cracking on soon. Thanks for looking. Cheers!

Nice work on the details Nate...but have to confess I'm saddened to hear of the tarp plans to hide it all. FWIW my wife's also a teacher (and I spent 3 years teaching 8th graders myself before moving on to other things) so you should feel perfectly happy enjoying your summer break and getting in as much model building as you possibly can!

Thanks guys. Appreciate all the comments. Hey fellas, did a little work today. I got the K98s painted a few days ago and finally took the time to put them in their side stowage racks today. Also, the MP40s… and got the radios installed… Now all I have to do is put the top armor on and mask it off so I can work on the outside. I’ll finish the weathering later when I do the exterior. Let me know what you think. ☺
