Nice Job Nate!!! I like the high lights, and it;s gonna look sweet once you get done with all the chipping.

Looking good nate! On the lost decal, I assume you lost it to the masking? If so, then if you seal the decal with Future or similar the next time, it should avoid the masking tape lifting/damaging the decal. HTH!

Bill: yeah, that's what's so strange, I did seal with two thin coats of future:). Thanks anyway.

Hi Nate, nice decalling and paintwork, some nice shading! In a way I like it you lost the front palmtree decal...I think this one looks much better (the swastika on the old one looked a bit odd to me ^^). Really lookin' forward to next step dude!
Cheers

The only other thing I can say then Nate is use a weaker masking tape! It has to be pretty strong to pull up a sealed decal under 2 layers of future...either that or the Future hadn't fully cured/sealed in the decal somehow. Strange indeed!

Looks good from here Nate! One small suggestion would be to drill out the exhaust on the pot muffler on the fender? Looks like in one of the pics that the kit part is molded solid?

Hey guys. In the final turn on this one. Did an AK DAK wash pin wash yesterday. After a couple of days work ☹, I got the tracks built and painted then installed them today. Also installed the tools and the top two radios. Of course, after adhering the mirrors a couple of weeks back, I succeeded in knocking both off with my fat fingers, so I scratched a couple up today, painted em up, and slapped em on. ☺ Stuck the jerry cans in inside and outside too. I’m planning on some AK DAK dust wash and perhaps some minor DAK wash streaking. Let me know what you think. The finish will be tomorrow in time for the MOM comp. Figure I’d give it a first go, you know, to break the ice. Suggestions? Cheers.

It is really looking great!!! Same thing happened to my 234/1 as I managed to knock front rods off... glad somebody has fat fingers like mine.
Looking forward to see it washed with DAK dust next...

Looks good Nate and the replacement mirrors look the part! The weathering you've got planned for it sounds like it should fit the bill nicely.

Well done on this one Nate! The DML 251 tracks are styrene and designed to be workable, I've always enjoyed working with them as they assemble easily (just trap the links with the cap block in pairs, then daisy chain the pairs together) and are durable as well.
