Wouter- I do remember about your AK incident and I am glad they took care of you right away. You will like it once you got it figured out.
Ben- Hey lad! Please keep in mind we are allowed to use this word lad here. LOL Glad you liked how it came out...
I agree with you about adding lighter paint to the base coat. It can be done easily but it will take me a while to do it... shake, pour, stir, repeat that several times. With AK set, you just squeeze the paint direct into the AB and add few drops of thinner, shake or stir then you are ready to go! The paint job took me about two hours which would have taken me much more doing the old 'pre-shading' or 'post-shading' method.
I am still using two years old chunky pancake air compressor and it is pretty loud that drives my dogs crazy when it is running. But getting a smaller quieter compressor is the only thing I want for Christmas this year.
Always great hearing from you my lad!!!! LOL

Dicky- LOL! You are way too nice. It was very easy using CM set so you will find me using it on future builds.
Steve- Glad you liked it too!!! Thanks!
Like I stated earlier, I didn't even use last two lighter paint... now I am not too sure if I should use them at all. I will try one using dry brushing only and see how it comes out.

Not all the colors in all the sets are perfect for AB work. Some initial patches also had some problems and from what I know they have taken care of most problems. Remember, sample are often used and tested before production begins, so the test samples could be perfect but then the initial first batch might have issues until all is corrected.
This goes for almost all paint companies and when we the model actually use the product, the feedback we send helps companies tweek any probs. Just FYI there.
Now get to weathering Andy....LOL

Rob- Thanks boss! So far I really like AK products and I plan to buy more... its your fault! Damn it! LOL Guys- Sorry for being slow... my boys were at a camp for a week and I was expecting a lot of bench times. Boy, I was so wrong... my beloved wife invited friends over or went out for dinner nearly every night. Don't we all love her? Update on the Pz III K... used lightest paint from the MC set on the highest point or details. They were thinned and dry brushed... like the clasps. This concludes the painting stage... I am afraid the heat waves have been causing brain damages because I have forgotten many things during this build. I completely forgot about the return rollers so they had to hand painted. Flashbacks as a child painting wheels... I prefer to use AB! The Friul tracks are also ready awaiting for dirt pigments to be applied during the final stage of weathering... A diorama I ordered for this has arrived today... It has great details... far superior than Verlinden bases. Hope there will be an update soon... thanks for looking!

Thanks buddy! Glad you liked the base too... when I saw it on evilBay I had to get it. Its my first MIG base and I want to get more of those. I build at very slow pace so it will take me forever to make a diorama from scratch. $18 for this base... time isn't in my favor but money is.

LOL! Thanks my man! In the past I was never a fan of painting but things have changed and I am really enjoying the painting part more especially with color modulation.
I have been thinking about this. I told myself to do fewer figures for this and next few builds so I can speed up with more results. But because of the diorama base, I think it would look good if I can add a dead Russian at the bottom of trench?

Robbo & modelfreak- Glad you liked the base too. Had to get it when I first saw it. You can find it on eBay easily...
I am sure it ll use up a lot of primer paint because it is a plaster base. Will start with black then brown....

Dupes- Hey buddy! It is really great hearing from you. No worries... you can follow my build here. Figured you and your bike have been busy. ;D Only five weeks left for the GB... it has been great because of you guys! Happy you like how it came out... after seeing your work using AC on your panzer I had to get it! LOL Robbo- Maybe this will help... I usually order from two of my fav sellers and this one came from 'Dragon-Hobby' seller. Here's the link... its not on sale right now which I saved about $5 earlier. www.ebay.com/itm/Mig-Productions-1-35-Stalingrad-Diorama-Base-for-Panzer-III-and-StuG-III-35-007-/180852037958?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a1b9f1946#ht_2092wt_1188 It looks like there is a seller in UK that sells MIG bases... 'GB Models'. Hope this helps? Bill- Thanks man! Planning to work on it over the weekend but am afraid I'd be hooked to the Olympics. Am really looking forward to it.

BBQ?!?! Did somebody say BBQ? Same here... would love to see more of this. Had this recently for the farewell dinner with our Danish friend before he returned home. Filet mignons wrapped with bacons, foil wrapped corn cobs, and sliced potatoes & onions... Tonight we are having beef & chicken kabobs. LOL

Spud- Yikes, please don't tell me you eat potatoes only! LOL Dicky- If spud comes here, I promise you he will change his mind about BBQ. Nothing exciting to post... sprayed a coat of Future on Pz yesterday and I am in process of applying decals. Only four this time... will post pictures tonight.
