Guys- Little update on my panzer... decals have been applied. I have to say that it is not my favorite part of modeling. I wish I was as rich as spud so I can buy all dry transfers from Archer. Hey you Dragon folks, here's another FUBAR... you never get anything right! Instructions wanted me to place it on right side. But in actual photo of my #02, it was closer to the center right behind the exhaust pipe. Applying decals on the turret was no fun either... here's why but I think they came out good. I broke the decal on the rear of turret... Good thing I haven't gotten rid of those little Testor bottles... red & white were perfect matches. Repaired... all decals look shiny because I sprayed final coat of Future. Can't wait to weatherize it next... thanks for looking guys!

aplying decals can be a real paint in the a** ey...had some issues with them on a PzIII recently: I have to strip the paint of the sides and respray and re-apply them...oh well, you live and learn ;D you managed them well though, like the way how you handled things. None of it visible anymore. I like how the decals sit on the hatch as well, hats off mate! Cheers

Decals?!?! They scare me! No matter how easy they are but it is impossible to know how they come out. I am afraid I am going to have nightmares about your Pz III for next few nights. LOL
Maybe we can ask spud to buy some dry transfer for us in exchange for building his karma rating?
Thanks Wouter for stopping by!

well, on my first model (the La Gleize KT) I actually used dry transfers ;D
I must say: several things went wrong with mine: first of all, I wanted to work too fast and brushed on some Vallejo Varnish undiluted...and second: lessons learned: Microsol Set makes that it's very hard to move your decal around, so I won't be using that anymore, just the Set ^^
Hopefully not too many nightmares mate, maybe some alcohol might help ;D
Cheers

I've never had issues with decals, mabe you two suck at them Andy you could apply some chipping around the damaged decal that would make it look like it got. Nick on a wall or somit

Dicky- Trust me I have been so wrong many times... LOL Guys- Since my panzer is still in its drying stage after a coat of Future last night so I started working on the tank commander figure... it still has a long way to go. Face has only base coat with little dark washes so far... Dark gray dry brushed on edges and details. Darker grey on the touser inside the folds. Next I will dry brush lighter gray shade... More to come...

Nate- Of course we will eat inside as I will just cook something on the grill. Beer will keep us warm, right? ;D Guys- Panzer has returned to its flat look... sprayed two coats of flat clear and allowed it dry overnight. Worked on the figure again as soon as my wife and boys went to bed... dry brushed using lighter grey on edges. Keep in mind I will apply dark washes at the end...

Bill- Thanks buddy! My figure may be ready but my TV wasn't. It died on us again last night. Seven years old Sony TV and it was the second time. Screw it we agreed not to spend another $400 to have it repaired so my wife and I went out to get new one. We don't think we will buy another Sony product for a very long time...
Now we are back watching the Olympics! ;D
Dicky- Thank you for very nice words. BBQ has really helped you agree? LOL
Modelfreak- Glad you like where it is going... thanks for dropping by!

Nate- Thanks buddy!
Gary- Thanks bro! I was so fortunate to have a lot of bench time over the weekend. I am hoping for another great weekend since boys will be gone camping and my wife wants to visit her mom for the weekend. She asked me if I want to join her... I replied in a very gentle way that I'd rather to stay home. ;D

Not much update... hooked to the Olympics! ;D Worked on the tank commander and it is almost complete. I toned down the weariness of the jacket so it looks better now. All details have been painted and I only need to finish the face which is not really my favorite part. Comments are always welcome... thanks for looking!

Bill- Thanks buddy!!! Only one more week!!! Too bad USA didn't win a lot of medals today. China has been doing great... unbelievable but I have to remind myself their government pays big bucks to make it happen while we don't. My "other addiction"... were you talking about pro football? Rob- Thanks boss... glad you liked the fig. Just send me any Alpine figures you are planning to throw away. ;D

LOL! Not surprised at all, Dicky! I never forget the look of East German ladies back in the 80's... they were far uglier than I am.
