Caught this one real quick on ML, I think. Looks like a very clean build. Can't wait to see this painted and weathered.

Hiya Pete, this looks really interesting.. I'm not sure I'd like to do those tracks, they look nice but a nightmare to handle? Anyhow.. Nice progress buddy

Good lord, what is that thing? Never seen the like...the Krauts sure came up with some odd ideas.
For all of that, it's got quite a bit of eye appeal and it seems you're making a fine job of it.
Regards, Mark

Cheers guys yep the tracks where slightly tricky to assemble as they where so small! I have got some paint on the wee beastie now, primed using tamiya grey primer then a coat of XF-63 followed by two good coats of AK interactive worn effects. I then mixed equal parts XF-60 & XF-57 for a desert sand shade. I personally like to start with a slightly lighter shade of colour as I find that subsequent weathering such as filters etc darkens the shade quite a bit. Pictures are a bit crappy, can't seem to get a good picture today! Anyway once this has had a chance to dry I will be attacking it with water and a brush to wear the sand away in selected areas. pete

It's one of those lesser-known vehicles...it's actually an Austrian Steyr design that the Germans inherited as part of the Anschluss. Not sure on the exact production numbers but the design was intended to use the large wheels on roads and the tracks for off-road capability. Interesting concept in theory, not so great in the execution. Paint looks great, looking forward to more! EDIT: It's a Saurer design, not a Steyr...and apparently about 128 of them were built.

Dig the aggressive chipping... it must have seen alot of action you can say. No hairspray? Just water? I'd like to learn more about your method! It looks real good!

Thanks guys, Deafpanzer the AK interactive worn effects fluid is similar to the hairspray method only less messy! Yesterday evening saw me going over the model with a fine brush and sponge refining and adding extra wear. I used the base tamiya german grey, vallejo Iraqi sand and a touch of vallejo dark rust here and there. I also painted the tools and attacked the exhaust with various vallejo colours. I also added a gloss coat and this morning added the decals. As you can see the effect is very stark at the moment but further weathering will tone it all down. Pete

Thanks!!! I wasn't sure which method you used and I am WITH you regarding AK Chipping products. I used AK Heavy Chipping on the muffler earlier and it was a lot easier and less messy like you said.
Looking forward to your next update...
