A giant penny and a 1/16 KT turret that's what you've got! ;D Seriously though, more great work buddy

Thanks guys. I figure I should do this now while I can before all I can see is a 1/16 KT or the Opti-Visor lenses get so thick it's too heavy to lift. I finished the cleaning rods for the little kitty. The rods are 0.5 mm brass tube with the “threaded” ends 0.3 brass tube that fits inside the large one. I made the rack part by taking a bunch of hat pins, since they are relatively hard, and held then over a piece of 0.5 mm tube and tapped it with a hammer, each pin making a nice depression in the tube. These were glue to the hull and the cleaning rods to that.

Pretty small there, Wingy, and very nice as well. Impressive detailing for this scale.

Love what you're doing in the detail department here Marc! The trick with the pins worked out perfectly IMHO, very neat.

Thanks so much guys. really appreciate the comments. Dicky, That's just too damn funny. So close to paint I can almost smell the fumes. All the fiddly bits are done. Tow cable is made from lead thread and brass tubes. Only thing missing is the metal liner that inside the loop but I am hoping that at this wee scale it will go unnoticed. A few more grab handles added. Vision ports on the commander's cupola are now separate with a new gun ring. And while not pictured, tiny little lifting lugs where added to the exhaust housings. Last thing before getting some color down is to add some resin hex bolts to the fenders.

I don't think you have to worry too much about that little detail going unnoticed Marc, everything else you've done in this scale is on the 'amazing' end of the spectrum! Very sharp work all around...the added bolt detail will just be icing on the cake.

Thanks guys. Bill... considered that cake iced. The plan is to get the base coat on tonight. I was correct in your T-34 thread...I DO smell paint ;D I knew that I was going to feel that I was lazy about leaving the 2 molded on tools on the front deck. Made a new axe and sledge hammer. And i added the little resin bolts to the fenders. Gotta go down and mix my dark yellow. Hmmm? Not what was that recipe...? 1 part dark yellow, 1 part buff, eye of newt and a purple flirp? I'll start there.

Now that's what I call some awesome icing! Just don't overdo the eye of newt...it can produce some disastrous results if not done in the correct ratio. ;D

Thanks lads. Yes ER... I love the smell of VOC's in the morning Dupes if you use this the only thing I would do different is to add a little spacer between the pins to spread the depressions out a wee bit.

WOW... I guess I am not the only one to be excited about getting to the paint ;D Steve, Gonna be an ambush scheme. The interesting part of that is mote the method than the scheme itself. The pics I've seen of the tanks in Pz Abt 501 have a hard edge camo. I was trying to use some Blu Tack and having a hard go of it. I read once about using tooth paste. I will certainly post pics if that's the way I go.

Andy, do mean on this version kit or the real deal? When I look at my 1/35 KT the proportions looks about the same. But it is a damn big turret no doubt. Camo? You want camo? OK. Here is the progression with the tooth paste mask. Since the 1:1 progression is the green and red brown applied to the yellow, that had to be reversed. So that meant changing the base coat color. So does that make the yellow a primer coat ;D The final yellow coat is drying as I type this. Once it's dry i will wash off the TP with water and a paint brush. I am already getting antsy to see how it all works.

TOTAL DISASTER But it does smell nice Washed of the paint and it was looking really great... until the paint started washing off too. 3 layers down to the plastic in spots. As I was moaning... "Why, why, why... Oh the humanity..." I was thinking the only thing it could be is there is some alcohol in the toothpaste. And then I remembered when the other guy talking about it he did say "kids" tooth paste. I am guessing no alcohol. Chatting about it with the owner of my LHS and he thought off ready made cake icing in the aerosol can. I checked... no alcohol. But there is oil hat may stain he paint. I got a tube and will test on ...."not the tank"
