Allow myself to introduce my...self. I haven't built an actual armor kit in 20 years. I normally build SF3D/MaK but something about the short barrel stug kept calling me. I was leaning towards a C/D version, but I picked up the Dragon ausf B at a show. This is my first time soldering PE or working with this small of PE bits. It tested my patience and eyesight. Any technical errors are becasue I don't know what I'm doing and didn't have a lot of research materiel available. I started off with an Edward fender set and added the mudflaps and smaller details from a Voyager set. I used Fruil tracks and a Legends resin set for stowage. The Voyager PE set is really nice. It was designed for the Tamiya kit and had some fit and alignment issues for the Dragon kit. Primer coat is Tamiya Fine from a spray can Base coat and pre-shade is airbrushed Tamiya Flat Black Modulation was with Tamiya acrylics. No HS technique. Any chips are Vallejo acrylics. Markings are archer fine transfers. And here is where I'm at with starting the weathering. I used warm light grey filter for the upper surfaces and a cool blue filter for everything under the fenders. All gear is painted with Vallejo Acrylics dusted with pigments. These last photos are a little crappy - taken with phone - but you can see I'm just about done until disaster struck. I found a seam on the barrel ring that once I saw it, I could not let it go. I scraped the paint back to the bare plastic to clean up the seam. I also got the tracks applied and hull sides muddied. Photo is a little dark. Still a ways to go. You've done a nice job on this older kit! I hear you about the barrel seam, stuff like that drives me nuts too but looks like you've got it figured out. Very nice work on the stowage and paint modulation as well.

Superb! I love my StuG's and this is the best one I've seen in a while! Which Dragon kit number is this? Excellent colour Modulation in the early photos - something I'm yet to master. Just superb - great work Sir! That stowage looks amazing btw. Ben

Thanks a lot guys. Appreciate it. Hinksy - Judging by the quality and date I'd say it was kit #002. Sorry, I tossed the box a while ago. It's from the mid 90s and has the poor quality box art. I ended up using their Ausf A Wittmann to harvest some better parts. The orangebox re-release with the figures is the same kit with the reworked bits from the A. multicam - Sure, here's one of my recent favorites PKA Ketzer You can see the rest on my site.
