Love the Merks...interested to hear how this new kit works out for you. Ever done any of the Academy ones?

Hi chaps, thanks for the early show of hands. Dupes, I have done a couple of Academy kits and they're not too bad, team them up with some Legend extras and they come out well although it can get expensive! I am yet to try the Hobby Boss kits after their lower hull mishap on the first release, I understand it was corrected on subsequent releases though.

Hello chaps, thank you for coming to join me! Here goes, first up, time to assemble the final drive cases and the idler mounts. Attached to the hull along with the first of many small parts that also attach to it. And more! The triangular return roller mounts are very slightly angled and easy to fit the wrong way, I discovered that if you make sure the face without a sprue attachment point is pointing up, they're on correctly! Cheers.

Hi guys, great to have you all along for this one!
Wondering which way to go now as Meng offer you three options for the wheels, all steel, all rubber rimmed or a mixture of both! I need to be certain asyou get different suspension arms depending on which way you go, hmm...

Hi guys, great to have you all along for this one! Wondering which way to go now as Meng offer you three options for the wheels, all steel, all rubber rimmed or a mixture of both! I need to be certain asyou get different suspension arms depending on which way you go, hmm... Hi Prof. I'm working on a review for MSC now you've pipped me to the post mate Meng provide up to four combinations of rubber or steel road-wheels with/without separate foam rings (these rings prevent mud/water building up or staying in the rims). 1. Rubberized Road wheel (RW) w/o foam ring. 2. Rubberized RW with foam ring 3. All metal RW w/o foam ring. 4. All metal RW with foam ring. The wheels are extremely done indeed allowing for four options of the Mk.3D road wheels or mixtures thereof. These combinations can change regularly as cracked tyres are replaced, so many combinations can be seen making for many variations which I think is a great feature. You're right you need to decide what you are doing up front so you can use the correct arms otherwise you'll end up with potentially uneven wheel heights Smudge

Great start, Prof. I'll be hanging round for this one. Looks like a nice kit, and judging by their other kits (the technical pick-up and the minenraumer), should be a pretty high standard of molding. What are your initial thoughts on the kit itself, prof?

Chaps. Not much to show I'm afraid, work dictates otherwise. Here's a quick pic of the drive sprockets and idlers. Pay careful attention to the idlers, they are a single piece molding!!!!

Chaps. Hi Steve, it was a tough call buddy I can tell you! All being well I will revert to a car for my next build, I find swapping between genres helps me focus better! Hi Eth, glad to have you and your undoubted IDF knowledge along for the ride. Anti Slip I don't like doing at the best of times, Dicky is sending me up some grit which will do the job although on a recent visit to the darker recesses of the garage yielded something promising too. Will post an update soon but to bring you up to speed, my kit is missing the 16 polycaps for the wheels
