I like the color combinations, it's not just rust, also an interesting three tone camo scheme.
Best regards ! G.

ooooh welds...good stuff then. I'm gonna pass on the welds on my KV. I need a quick build and get to rusting. I need a nice old crusty rusty KV.

Thank you fellow MSC'ers
Hey Richard welcome back, and thank you for the kind words. Glad to hear my work has helped you out.
OK, slight set back. I forgot I gave away my kit supplied tracks.....so I do have to use the Fruils. I had hoped to instead use the Dragon tracks since the sprockets were already painted. So now I have to paint the metal 18 tooth sprockets that come with the tracks. No biggie Wheels are finally done and will be mounted on the arms tonight. Pics coming tomorrow some time.

yeah it's no biggie really, about an hours work. The model is about 98% done. Just need the partial tracks and sprockets. Might add some mud spatter since I'll have the AB out. Time to start the base

Just a small update fellas. Got the wheels mounted and a test fit on the base last night. Won't have any time today or tomorrow to work on this. Got to take the car into the shop this afternoon and have other things to do. The plans for today and this week have all changed so very little bench time for me. In all it wasn't a bad week working on the JT, after having it sit for two years. Might try to do the base and sprockets this weekend. Thanks for looking all. that's it for me, got to run

why did ya cut the wheels?
|
|
|
Post by 406 Silverado on Jan 10, 2012 10:13:25 GMT -5
Spud the wheels were cut down back when I built the model. It's so the JT will sit into the ground work. it's for visual weight effect and much easier this way than to try and bury the wheels and tracks. I will only be using some of the tracks since the bottom runs will be in the ground. Make sense now. If you do have anymore questions, please ask and I'll try to explain my madness

haha i was thinking why not just bury it but that makes sense,

Thanks G and 67. Yeah those bright orange rust colors are a bit loud....but that is how they looked once the oxidation started. A few days of rain and they toned down to reddish brown. The black soot would also start streaking....more colors
