Lovely job - superb! A really convincing fresh whitewash look. I'm impressed. I can't really fault it other than that, you've done a great job with the band tracks! Now you did ask for any comments etc? The wheels look clean, new and unused. I'd like to see them just 'muddied up' a bit with perhaps a hint of whitewash on the hubs? Food for thought. They just look out-of-place against the rest of the build (imo at least) Also, the tracks might benefit from the lightest of metallic colour grey/silver drybrushed on the guide horns and some light wear shown on the drive sprocket teeth. The whitewash wouldn't have stayed on them teeth very long. Don't go too shiny - I like a good Silvacolour Graphite pencil for showing wear in these areas. You've mentioned a matt coat of varnish? Hmmm? I'd leave the body alone and perhaps shoot some dull coat onto the spare track links up front and onto the running gear - maybe? I don't know. Fellas? It's really a great build and I wouldn't normally 'pick on a model' unless the builder asked for comments - I'm hardly an authority in modelling myself! Perhaps one day! I'd definately like to see some attention paid to the rubber (wear/mud) and hubs (chipping/mud). Again, that's just me. If you are happy then leave well alone! Great work, Ben

Thank you kindly, all All rubber band tracks are not created equally, if these had not been pretty nice to begin with I'd not have been able to do what I did with them. A few old tricks I know helped out here. Hinksy-I may have been premature in saying that the vehicle was done...it will get some mud and perhaps something else I'm thinking of. I did drybrush a bit of steel on the track surfaces but by the time I'm done there will be a coat of fake mud, etc. so most of what I've done will disappear anyway. Thanks much for taking the time for an objective opinion, and you do not have to be apologetic, after all I asked for everyone's thoughts. Nemo-Yessir my hands are very talented I can run the computer with my right and drink beer with my left at the same time. Just to prove this has not stalled out My array of little Krauts. I intended to give them white winter clothing and did so, I could not make them look right. They were either too brilliant or too something else so being as I've seen many pictures of WW2 German troops in green/olive/field grey dress I quit fighting it hence what you see. I've come to view figures as a necessary evil to be endured, kind of like painting roadwheels. I don't much like either, almost have to force myself to the bench, boo hoo whine whimper and such. Perhaps if I ever get better at them I'll enjoy doing them more. Groundwork drying as I type, will show progress as more is made. Regards, Mark

Mark, Nice work on the 'squad'! The way you have them lined up looks like the third prone gent is aiming that piece of sprue very effectively! ;D As far as figures goes, you should 'endure' them only if you like adding them and want to get better. If not, then it's a 'chore' you don't have to go through, we won't hold it against you, honest! I personally gave figure painting a whirl for a while and just never got into it...doesn't mean I don't admire those who do figures and include them in bases/dios, it's just not something I ever got any personal enjoyment out of as part of my builds.

Great job on the Pz III... It's not too often you see a WW that isn't all beat to hell... in fact, I'm quite surprised Andy wasn't egging you on to do more. LOL The only thing I might humbly offer is that the chipping looks a little too uniform, like you spaced them evenly or something. It's not a criticism, maybe just an observation from my perspective/preference. So take it as you will... no harm meant. Great start on the figs too!

Looking real good! Great looking figures too - I hionestly must learn how to paint them (I've been saying that for the last 2 years now) Re the wheels I'm glad you are going to do a bit with them but just remember to keep it in line with the rest of the build i.e. a Pz. III with 'wet look 'mud spattered all over will obviously have some pretty clogged up and muddy wheel hubs and tracks. On the flipside a dusty build with 'dry look' just keep it consistent. You can't go wrong ;D At the end of the day it's your build and if YOU like it then YOU take it as far as you want to go. When wbill (for example) makes suggestions on weathering I'll sit up and take note! It depends on if you want a nice simple non-fussy build just go with the flow, otherwise listen to the guys and see if you are able to do anything. What's the plans - a base I'm assuming now you have figures? Great work on a great kit. It's overlooked imo in favour of the Dragon version - obviously the Dragon version has Winterketten single link Magic Tracks which is a big selling point. I managed to get this kit cheap but had to but Winterketten Friuls - they look great on any Pz. III type build. Keep us posted - very well done so far, Ben Ben

Thanks, Dupes, Bish Bill-A guy can get used to almost anything if he does it enough. I guess I'd not have this difficulty if I chose subjects that did not demand figures. Hasenpfeffer-No worries I do not come unglued at honest observations, I find them useful. I wanted to do a mostly intact WW A. to represent a late fall scene and B. just to be different. Ben-So, here's some dirt for ya. Dragon kits are good to be sure but I will always do a Tamiya if the level of detail is sufficent since they go together so well. The End, gentlemen Thanks all for taking the time to look and comment hope ya enjoy Regards, Mark

Jeeze Marc , i'd be more n happy to get the chipping /weathering results that you have accomplished on this . Everything looks realistic imo . The dio adds a whole new dimension to the build . I dont like dio's or figures much either but i will to overcome that also . The aesthetics on this are top notch man!!! By the way , this was a killer fast build . ;D
Ps . do you like white tail meat ? I've got a couple of nocturnal deer brats that graze on my bushes ! I need a little thinning of the Bambi population around here . Guess i need a 10 ft fence around my property !

Tojo, Joe, thanks much
Carl-Thanks also, having seen some of your stuff I've no doubt you could chip and weather in a most prresentable manner. It's just figures that give me a pain, not groundwork and such, haven't really developed a good technique for faces yet. Someday.
I do like 'tail meat, just ate some tonite as a matter of fact. Too bad the season's over otherwise I'd be delighted to cull a member or two of your problem herd. Next season, perhaps.

Love the base! Missed the figures update... they look pretty good too.
p.s. Was at big local gun show and saw many of your toy's friends today... tempting but the selling prices have skyrocketed. No kidding...

Not trying to ditract from the vehicle, but i have to ask about the wall and well. Are they scratchbuilt or bought.

Thanks, guys
Andy-I'll just bet that prices are ridiculous these days, the demand is beyond anything I've seen. What were they asking?
Bish-No worries on asking about stuff, it's all part of the whole. The wall and well are parts of a Miniart vacuform building that I found to be too large for its intended purpose, so it'll live on in various pieces on various bases.
The well is a section of wall cut and teased into a more or less round shape and glued, nothing more. I did this mostly just to see if it could be done and liked it enough to add it as an empty space filler.
Regards, Mark

Funny thing I could saw many AR-15's still packed inside unopened boxes with its printed original price tags. Then you can see a fourth digital number was added using just pen or marker. For example... original printed tag was '$999' now I see '$1999'. Get it? It was SO PACKED...
I'd love to get one myself but my wife will not approve even tho she doesn't mind me getting smaller guns. I got several great WWII relics at the end so everybody was happy. ;D

Thanks Mark. Do you happen to recall which kit number it was. I have one of their Diorama sets and i rather like it, and a lot cheaper than Verlinden resin buildings. I plan on getting a few more, and those items you used look rather nice.

Andy, Carl-It's sick, is it not? Based on what I've seen I figure I could triple my investment right now were I inclined to play that particular game.
DanB-Thanks for your kind assessment sir
Bish-It's the French Farmyard, #35507. Word on the street is that it's out of production and I cannot find one from my regular sources but someone out there must have one or two.
Gary-Thank you sir glad ya like it
