Tamiya Simca 5 Staff Car FINISHED 18/1

Started this last night and have just finished it bar adding some valves to the tyres. Bit of a speed build that's for sure! Usual tamiya quality it just falls together. Only additions where a new resin head for the driver from the spares box, new front licence plate from plastic card and some bolts on the bumpers.









I used a little Mr surfacer on the inside door cards and that's about it. This is a perfect kit for a quick hassle free build just the ticket! So onwards to the painting.

It's a lovely little model, and that is a ver clean build.

I have one in the stash , plan is to go the Fiat Topolina route with it

That looks a really nice kit and clean build aswell. There is alot ya could do with that car right there...would look right at home on many a dio's. Man, i want one now!

cheers guys it's a great little kit, Nemo it would look good rusted up but on this one it's going to be an in service vehicle, maybe next time, (a plan is forming already!)

Whilst I had the airbrush out for the grizzly I went ahead and primed the Simca using Vallejo panzer grey primer. The detail now really pops out and I am looking forward to painting the model proper.

More on the Simca now and today I sprayed the model using various shades of tamiya german grey, once dry a couple of coats of klear then decals. The grey has got different tones on the body work but I kept it subtle for a change!









I am currently doing some detail painting such as seats etc. The kit is flying along nicely!

As promised here are some more pictures, I have now painted the figure and for this I used a selection of vallejo colours. I also tried the Tamiya WWII german infantry insignia decal set on the figure. Partly cos I was feeling lazy and also to see how they actually looked on a figure. I must say I was very impressed especially with the cap decals, try painting a red white and blue circular badge on the front of the cap by hand. It's almost impossible but with the decal it looks spot on!

I also added a couple of bits from the spares box to fill the void behind the seats.



I have also added some chipping which at the moment looks very heavy but will be toned down with further weathering

Great job with the fig too, I wouldn't be able to put such a small decal on a cap...

Looking great! Nice work on the figure too! I used Tamiya decals on infantry figures and I thought they came out great too so I will not hesitate to use them again.

Thanks guys I will defo be using the decals again so much easier! Work has gone well on the Simca. I added a filter of light grey then matt varnish and a very very light spray with tamiya buff for the dust effects followed by mig pigments. I have now glued the bodywork together and added the windscreen which is just a push fit no glue needed. I also made up some copies of Signal! and added them to the passenger seat as it's good for morale!

I made them using hand rolling paper. The base was made up using scrap bits plus plastic rod for the kerbs and this will be painted next.

It looks much better now, the colors are softer and more realistic Pete. Also the decals blend in flawless !

Thanks very much guys much appreciated. Well the model and base are now all finished. The base just got some pigments and washes chucked at it then some leaves and a bit of rubbish for the gutter. I then buffed the cobbles with a soft cloth for a slight sheen.





The Simca looks just right on the base too,











I can't recommend the kit enough, just the job for a quick and easy build

I'd put the car parallel to the sidewalk, or did you mean it is parked?
