Hey guys ! I started this build as a "what if " . But 99 % of the build is going to be as close to factual as i can get it so i thought i'd do the WIP here and then when i get to the "what if " part i'll finish that up in the "Whaaaaaaaaaaa-t if'n" section . Thanks to you guys that have been following this build up there ! ;D This is the kit . A little history if you want to read it . History : In Feb 1944 one of the first protoyype JagdPanzers was Fgst.305001 . Fgst. 305001 mounted the Porsche type suspension and the 128 mm Pak 44 L/55 canon . After inspection Fgst. 305001 was rejected due to poor quality of armour . She never received a Zimmerit coating and was used for training / evaluation . I'll paint her in dunky with a buff interior . I've orderd Friuls and have some pe for the detailing bits . This is the kit . I beefed up the gunmount for the "what if ". But for know i will mount the stock 128mm Pak 44 L/55 This will be the new cannon ............. I have been getting the casement together . Bad fits on the forward bulkhead . I did some distressing on the casement side bulkheads . Well thats it for tonight . ;D

I see I have not explored this forum to the fullest. Mostly pop right in to the Armor section here.
Good start on the J Carl, looking fw to the next move , but may I ask where is the 'what if' section ?

Sorry guys nothin more to show yet I woke up this morning to a house in the 50's . The heat pump guit again ! I got the problem narrowed down to a relay in the outside unit but since its sunday no fix . It's in the teens outside so i fired up the wood stove .Thats my back up heat sorce but it dont heat the cavern so its chilly down here . A couple of you mentioned not seeing or knowing where the "what if "s are or just dont look there .........i've been guilty of that also . Thats why i moved the pre "what if " part of the build down here . I dont really want 2 threads but i could see that the "what if" is kinda a back room that gets missed . Here's the link to my JagdPanzer IV modelerssocialclub.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=postww&action=display&thread=2932

Great workbench!!! Funny we use a lot of same products... primer rattle cans, Future, tools organizer, paint thinners, etc. Even MM paints but I have been phasing them out... maybe you want all of my MM enamel paint too?

Hey guys , just had BBQ'd steak and couple of brews ...........crazy with the bbq going in 12 degree f ....thing was all froze up .it looks like a blankin steam locomotive what with all of the steam n smoke ! LOL
Yup it worked ptetty well . Cold as heck though . The exhaust motor draws out the air so well there was cold breeze on my back and hands the whole time . wonder what the chill factor is down here in this freezer ? Called about the no-heat pump and it wont be till wednesday b4 the repair can get going . Still haulin fire wood mates .
The most expensive item on the paint booth was the flexible exhaust that i bought . Everything else is from used of left over lumber .
Bill , Soon as the holidays are over i'll get with the buildin again . Some heat down here would help .
Andy , you dont like them MM enamels ? we'll talk if your seriouse bout giving them up .
Dicky , does it look ship shape enough to you ?
Joe , glad to have you man .
Later you mugs ! LOL

Carl - It is always great when it sucks. You know you did a good job on your paint booth when it really sucks....
Sounds like a great new year!!

Like yer new setup, has a clean flow to it. Like the what if also, and having looked at the other thread featuring this vehicle I think you ought to leave the gun long as it presses home the experimental look. Looks cool also
Regards, Mark

John ,thanks and the Friuls are due tomorrow ..... will be interesting to see how they look . Thanks . Gary ,thanks man ! Mark , thanks again . I decided to run a thread in armor up until i get to the long barrel part and then keep it going in the what if section . I wanted to be down here with my regular armor buddies as long as i could . Kinda felt like i was being stuck out in left field up in the what if section . I've been tinkering with the setting on my camera trying to get the true color of the model . I ended up going with custom white balance in this one . I had to go to iso 100 to keep the brightness from my led lights to a minimum . I mixed some MM wood and flat white to get a interior buff color . Not much is going to be seen in here once i put the casement over the canon . There will only be that little door in back to see thru .Still , the modeler in me wants the interior color to be correct . i have some washes to apply in here b4 i seal it up with the casement . Hows the color look ?

I've been called crusty more n once though . Good to know that the work space is looking up to standards for you !
