Thank you kindly gentlemen Been stuck on this for the past couple of days, for some reason I could not figure a base layout. At last I've come up with something halfway pleasing If not this, something close to it anyway. Regards, Mark

Looking real good! Anxious to find out what you do with the rest... ditch? Abandoned Russkie anti-tank gun? Stone wall? Or the crew having a tea/coffee break? So many ideas...

Missed the last couple updates on this one Mark, it's looking good with the details added. Base layout looks like it will do the trick as well.

Thanks, Bill, your input is always welcome and valued Have been doing the crew and base extras the past couple of days, and finally today it got warm enough to go out to the garage and engage the tablesaw. I have no idea if there's any interest in my style of basemaking but this is how I do it...besides I've got to prove I've really been working on this... The edging These were roughed into 1 1/8 x 2" sticks and then dadoed to the somewhat arbitrary size shown here A little wood glue and some clamps And presto rough base. Some thin wood will be added for ground height variation. Sanding and staining up next. Regards, Mark

Nice 'proof of life' that the base is coming along there Mark. It ought to keep the vultures at bay for a little bit at least.

Why wouldn't you post more about how you're doing the base? It's neat to see this kind of hand-made craftsmanship come to life, so post away if you're so inclined.

Please do post this kind of info... that's something I always wanted to learn. My neighbor is really into wood work and he always tell me I can use his shop but I really need to learn little more before I can use his tools. Great toot I am telling you... keep it coming buddy!

Thanks gents It's done I think. I'll put it aside for a few days where I can't see it and look at it again to see if anything looks undone or wrong; if you guys spot anything please do not hesitate to point it out. Much to my disgust I failed to plant the model deep enough into the groundwork while it was wet guess I've some chiseling to do Thanks for lookin Regards, Mark

Stunning result!!! Really dig the cut wires! Same thing happened to my previous build Tiggy that I didn't have it planted on the base when I had it made but with help of mud and snow it came out OK. It doesn't look bad to me... if you really want to fix it, add some gravel.

I like the layout and figures you've added for this one Mark! The 100km to Moskau sign is some wishful thinking though!
