Here's what i have for this kit so far . I did some minor cleaning up of frame . I thinned the edges of the fenders . They would of been a good 6 inches thick when converted from 1/35th to 1/1 scale !

You don't what I'm talking about? I guess that's fair since I don't know what you're talking about! I was wondering why you said you couldn't handle the indies when there are rubber bands tracks in the box. I am so confused

I see you use same glue... Pro Weld... recently started using it and I really like it very much now. I use it for big jobs while I still use Tamiya Extra Fine for smaller jobs. PE sets look pretty good... welcome to our PE world! LOL

When it comes to building models, age is just a number. Sounds like the Cheetos are affecting your memory Carl either that or you're getting your triplet projects confused with each other!

Here is what i accomplished so far . The front suspension was mostly replaced with bits of styrene tubing , styrene rod , copper wire and aluminum tubing . This is the reason i replaced the kit suspension parts .This pic is of the parts is of the Sd.Kfz. 7/1 kit , which are identical . Tamia threw accuracy out the window in favor on making this kit a toy .Did anyone play with these after buiding them ? I might have but i was already 27 yrs old in 1972 .........still it might of been fun . I replaced the kit supplied vinyl tires with resin wheels/tires from Tank Workshop .The kit vinyle tires had a seam down the center of the tread surface that i found difficult to remove without ruining the tread . I chose the civilian tread design . They also offer the nobby tire military tread design . From what i could see of actual WWII photo's the civilian tread was more widely used .I flattened the tread where the pour spout was . It'll help show some "weight" .

Thanks guys ! Andy ,no cheeto's today . It snowed out so i worked on this . Joe , paint ....that might be a ways off . Garius ,Sometimes i get a good scratch session in . The Friuls for this kit came with some nicely detailed drive sprockets . They fit like they are made for this kit with the Tamiya poly caps and axle .Friuls are worth the money .

Carl, great job I think this, as most Tamiya kits from that era, was meant to be motorized. So they had to trade accuracy for robustness. BTW, I was young enough to play with this one, but it was way too dear for me at that time The level of details you're adding to this old kit is stunning, the outcome will be a masterpiece

Mark , tinkering with this one for sure ! And does it ever need it !Its been fun . Lui , I dont think kids should eat Cheeto's ......thats why when my almost 7 yr. old grand daughter was here i hid my stash of Cheeto's ......just lookin out for her health you know ........... I agree withyou about the Tamiya kits of this era . My kids never showed much interest in playing with plastic model kits after they were built .cause i wouldnt let them ?! No , they played with those larger steel Tonka toys . Like dump trucks , bulldozers . Of course i had to show them how to drive them ...... ........

LOL, did you also fake the engine sound with your mouth? I used to play with tanks, ships and planes and soldiers, but Tamiya's ones were way too dear to be usde. We needed lots of troops to fight the enemy, so they had to be Airfix or Matchbox ones, the cheaper we could get our hands on... We had a complex set of rules that were almost always bent to the needs of the stronger one
