Hi Gentlemen! In the morning I went to my "workshop" and my desk lamp was fallen onto the desk. Fortunately not onto the SA-9 But it was sunny morning so I could do the priming. Some parts must be filled and sanded, but without my lamp it will not be easy... So now I try to make a new stand for the lamp... I dunno when I'll be able to continue this build, but hopefully soon. And thank You so much for the positive comments

I built the little "Gem" alooong time ago and while mine had tires and boxy thingies on top, it in no way looked like your fabulous SA9. I mean this is seriously good work mokush. hope you get your lighting situation sorted soon 'cause im likin what I see.

Hello All! Thank You (as always) for the comments I'm not afraid it will be a "first class" SA-9... maybe acceptable Little progress... After the sanding I painted some "shadows" and 2 coats of green. I don't know if the preshading will be visible on the pics of the finished model, I cannot take as good pics as I'd like to. The tires are resin, and they got a black basic coat with some drybrushing, some more layers of dark grey will be applied. The rearview mirror and the rear lights painted with Alclad chrome. The shaded rear lights were unuseable, so I decided to use the not-shaded ones... those are for the BRDM-2, but I really could not save the matching ones. The strange "box" that contains the model was a package of a cake. I use it to store the models while the paint dries, so no dust or other little-flying-things can stick onto the wet surface. It became a bit worn in the past years, but still does its job I hope You like it, will post more pics as soon as some more progress will be done. All comments are welcome

Looks great, mokush Did you preshade it or is it colour modulation?

It's preshading... now it's too strong but after 2-3 more layers of green it will be OK. I do not like CM... some models with strong CM looks strange for me

Nice progress with the paint Mokush! The last pic has me curious...is that a new stealth device to make your Gaskin look like a well concealed cake?

Dicky - thanks wbill: The strange "box" that contains the model was a package of a cake. I use it to store the models while the paint dries, so no dust or other little-flying-things can stick onto the wet surface. Wanna see my low budget ($0) airbrush cleaner too? LOL

I figures that's what you were using it for Mokush. It's effective so long as you don't ever buy any tank-shaped cakes.

Hello Everybody! Final green layer is applied, and the preshading is almost invisible... this is the look what I wanted to achieve. One of the engine covers is painted in different color to break the monotonous overall grees suface. Say, this part was changed, so it's from an other vehicle or something... Pics: As always, you're free to judge and all comments/critics are welcome.

Hi All! Gaskin project suspended... I made some rainmarks and added some dust to the horizontal surfaces... then tried to fix the pigment with AK Interactive pigment fixer - what ruined my whole work. (It seems it works only with thick mud... or I'm not good enough to use it)It changed the color of the splashed mud and the rainmarks became too dark. After this I decided not to use it anymore and I'll give a try to the Humbrol weathering powders. They are not so overhyped like MIG or AK products, but there are some convincing vids on YouTube. If they work as I expect, the gaskin will be back... and he'll be very dirty (to hide what the fixer did). If they do not work... well, the Gaskin was not expensive and I learned a lot while the building (even it was not fun). No update until re-weathering. Thanks for your kind attention PS: Will start a new project in some days... it's Russian and has a lot of wheels... but no dirt

Sorry to hear that Mokush! Hopefully you can salvage it and will definitely be looking for your next multi-wheeled victim!
