Hi Mack nice shed thats what I need How do you deal with heat ,spiders ,mice and general dust. My shed is full of lawnmowers and creatures and black greasy dust god knows where that comes from a no go area you throw the lawnmower in shut the door and run.

I like the shed idea too, But I'm with Christopher. In my area I'd have spiders, snakes, hornets, coons, and other creatures hanging out in there with me. I guess one would have to build it more like a miniature house with tight construction with good insulation, windows, and doors.
Here I would also need a heat source for the winter and AC for the summer.

To be honest guys if you clad it not much gets in there with you. I've had one or two 2inch spiders walk past when i've been painting but when i took my glasses of the where tiny.

Here's the tour of my cave...it's kind of a small complex of two rooms and does double duty as a office and work bench area. This is the bench where all the construction takes place...a rolling chair sits between this desk and my larger computer desk with a distance of about 4 feet between them...makes for easy/convenient access when I need to check a reference or similar. A former closet has been converted to house the stash. Display cases for finished work and the spares parts bins along with miscellaneous storage area for things like the soldering iron and other odds and ends. The 2nd room I had purpose built as an addition to our house a couple of years ago. Here you can see the reference library and graveyard box of older models who give up the odd spare part from time to time. The folding door is usually closed unless I'm in the annex taking photos or painting. Photo booth set up for taking pics of in-progress builds and completed builds. Spray booth area for airbrush painting. Sure beats working out in the garage and enduring the whims of the local weather! And of course no cave is complete without a suitable companion...Brenda followed me around during the tour and will usually curl up at my feet under my desk or in the studio when I'm working. Gift shop is on the left as you exit!

That is one hell of a shed Mark. Lots of room to work which is perfect.
Bill thanks for the guided tour buddy. Good to see and hear that you no longer paint in the garage, I know how the weather is down there. Looks like you are well stocked with the MK tracks eh..LOL. Have yet to use MK's yet, but soon I hope. Might even get me some of those resin workable tracks you used on your KV. My two dogs love to hang out in my cave, the cat too.

TRM, thanks, Brenda's 14 months old and weighs in at 60 lbs and still thinks she's a lap dog from her puppy days! Spud, MKs have become my track of choice/habit for my builds, there's one for each of the kits in the stash where appropriate (not all the kits are tracked vehicles ). I don't acquire kits often these days and largely build from the stash, my wife says it's my own private hobby shop. Rob, my pleasure sir! You should give the MKs a whirl once just to say you did...think of it as a kind of modeler's bucket list item!

well, tried out the new photocamera yesterday, darn, that's a load of settings to check out so here's my 'mancave'...I figured out that the air in the basement isn't very dry, so I'll be just spraying my stuff and weathering there, the building and storage of the panzers will be on another level of the house ;D The quite empty spraying table The shelf where I keep some of my modelling stuff not the most impressive one I reckon, but it does the trick ;D Cheers

ya the camera part is ok but its the lenses are crazy mony but worth it, I will only put L series on my 5D except for my macro wish is a Sigma and it gives Good quality Shots and i got it for a Song, I was looking at the cannon 105mm macro at the Time but 2k or 150 i went for Sigma that time

lol boo that will make a good portrate lens! I have the cannon 70-200 F4 i think cost me i think €1500 and is really good but for portrates i got the Cannon 85mm F1.2 II L Cost Me two arms and 2 legs so i know use my noes to press teh shutter ;D
and Better lenses are what makes a Camera, i could mount my Lenses on wouts camera and get just as stunning shots.
So the more you spend on the Glass teh better your pics and a bit of LR/PS trickery with the Raw files ;D

if you want Really Close how about This. ;D But i think if its a really close you are looking for you would be looking for a 100-300mm Prices vary and it Depends on weather if its an F2.8 all the way to 300mm or if its a f5 or somit like that the 2.8 will give you really soft out of focus backgrounds and make your subject stand out better, the F5 could be F22 at 300mm so If you Really want aQuality Zoom look for the one that is somthing like f/2.8 trough to its max focal lenght,, wheeew... i hope you can understand that What make of Camera did you say you had? oh and 3-4k should get you a really good lens

lol im not an expert by any means but i do have a bit of know how . does that shoot in Raw mode? if so your good to go, sure editing them is a pain at times but its so much better and a good way to check exposure is take your fist shot in auto mode look at its info in the camera and go back to manual and set the same settings and then change up down the settings as you go, that is prob one of the best tips ive ever got

Raw mode is very powerfull it can trun a bland image into a stunner. its like having the negative from a film camera. here is a Vid from Froknows Foto funy guy, Not the guy in teh vid tough.. some basics of the raw and you get an idea of what you can do with it, Hope this helps www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZGEaGJ0esg
