Thank you guys. I'm plugging away at her. Yes Bones, It is half round on the front. Most of the bolts are hex rod, but the head bolts are 00-90 hex bolts. Thanks again for the support and interest. Bruce

Bruce
I have tried the hex rod but getting a neat cut and the right thinness always seems to be a problem.

It can be Bones. Generally what I do is cut it a bit long and then clean it up with a file. That seems to work out all right. Again I thank you for your interest and support.

I sand them once the glue sets and that helps when I have used them, I have also used round rod to simulate rivets in places where I can sand them after they set and it works pretty fair.

It does seem to work out all right that way Bones. I do have the Grief Rivet die sets as well, those work great, though using them can be a bit tedious. Dicky: Thank you very much. I do have to rebuild most of what I had done on the transmission (I just didn't like it). That is coming along well. I hope to have that ready to install in the fame within a week or so.

Thanks Bill. I am still plugging away. Clint, the transmission was a little too small, and not quite the right shape. I will be able to use most of the top of it that you saw.

Greetings all. The transmission is almost done (finally). It should be in base paint tomorrow, and on the engine Friday. I am making actual visible progress right now (after about 2 years of false starts and screw ups). Thank you all again.

Thank you Leon and Bill. She is starting to come along. Like I say, the Transmission should be on the engine in a few days. It's good to see one component almost finished.

I am really interested in anything that is 1/16th! AND, I really wish there were more kits available in the military soft skin category too as I am not that crazy about scratch building a whole vehicle. I was thinking about converting the Trumpeter M16 into another truck from a different country. But I will follow this build here with much interest and envy too. Jeff

Thank you Jeff for following. I haven't seen any for a while, but Academy made a few ford trucks in 1/16.
